if you read the press release, youll see this isnt a positive award:

"The Bernie Mac Show," in which star Bernie Mac is often seen with a cigar, got a Phlemmy this year. So did the Emmy-winning animated comedy "Futurama," which pictured Marlboro and Camel brand cigarettes.

The long-running Emmy-winning drama "ER" received a "Dishonorable Mention" for showing medical professionals smoking to relieve the stress of their jobs and personal lives.

Well, the UPI news states the camel and cowboy. But even Bender isn't really chain smoking in a positive light. Remember the ironic "they make me look cool" or the branding himslef as addicted (surely negative).

You know, I could see giving the award with respect to a casual viewer seeing Bender light up all the time. Yes, *we* know it's a running gag, but that isn't obvious to someone who just drops in on a random episode.

But to give it to such obvious slaps at the tobacco industry as Joe Camelhead, or the Chain-Smoker from "Raging Bender" is nothing short of boneheaded. Go out to the woodshed and paddle yourselves silly while you're at it, because that's what you've just done here.
