If you don't have a region-free player yet you should get one. They're pretty cheap on eBay. Or, if you already have a nice region 1 machine then get a used DVD-ROM drive to use for dedicated region 2.
If you get one that's <= 4x and download DVD-Genie then you can make your computer region-free. Drives that old can be had for like $20.

Having a region 2 capable player has become a big advantage recently: You can not only get Futurama season 1 and 2, but also Family guy and lots of other series way in advance. Buffy fans etc will value this.
