Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

The Competition

Let's have a look at what Futurama will run up against.
  • NBC: The show 'Dateline' will be put on hiatus next Sunday and be succeeded by reruns of 'American Dreams'
  • WB: Nothing new here - reruns of The Gilmore Girls
  • ABC: Assorted movies depending on your local affiliate.
  • CBS: Football up to December which is likely to run into the 7pm timeslot. Otherwise the strong going '60 minutes'.
  • FOX: Football up to December which is likely to run into the 7pm timeslot.
With The Wonderyears rip-off 'Oliver Beene' being held back till January 26th FOX might decide to give the 7:30 timeslot to Futurama which would shield it some from the Football overruns. Or they just air some 'The world's most xxx yyy'.
'60 minutes' will be the big guy of the 7 to 8pm timeslot just like last year but the reruns on WB and NBC might give Futurama some air to breath.

Or maybe fox will screen their new, prime time series 'greedy bastards', a documentary on the fox execs.

I can't wait to see the season premier in May or June. It's original showing being pre-empted of course by sports wrap up of a Houston Texans/Cincinnati Bengals game.

I hear ya, bankrupt. I've known since the premiere data was announced that it would be pre-empted in my area by a Redskins game. A pox on FOX.

As for showing Futurama at 7:30, I don't think it will happen. Based on everything we've heard, FOX plans to show the remaining 16 episodes and then cancel the show (officially). If they start airing Futurama at 7:30, they'll run out of episodes too soon.

Living in Scotland, I've never seen FOX, but can I assume they share Fry's love of shows with titles like "The World's Blankiest Blank"?
