What a beautiful day! Just after coming home from school I realized this wunderful package in my room...the FUTURAMA 2nd Season DVD! Immediately I put it into my DVD-Player and saw the first class animated menu. All the fantastic features made me nearly cry for happyness!
Well, my weekend is perfectly planned as I'll watch all my favorite episodes in brilliant quality!

I'm gonna get the bus to the shops after school on Monday just so I can get the DVD I've been looking forward too since February on day of release :D

Great review, it just keeps sounding better and better!

had my copy reserved at play.com for months now. can't wait for it arrive.

Of course, good people buy at amazon over the given links so we get a little obulus to pay for the server costs ;)

I watched some more commentaries now, but I don't really want to give too much away. Two things maybe which were asked in the past: It really is Hawking talking in AOI1 and it really are Leela's parents in 'I second that emotion'.

Woo hoo! That's TWO countdowns I'm waiting out--and at least ONE I'm sure I'll see! Beautiful review, and the pics just make me salivate. Bam!!

Well, technically it's Hawkings voice-synthesizer speaking. ;)

Great review mArc, lets hope the DVD's arrive Monday, or I'm going to loose my sanity when people start talking about them.

So are The Honking, and War is the H word really season 2 episodes?
[-mArc-]Nov 8th 2002, 00:00
Juliet: Yes. They (and cryonic woman) were produced for Season 2, so they too are on the DVDs.

Just told my mum about the free postage at Amazon.co.uk for orders over
volkerNov 8th 2002, 00:00
pre-ordered months ago, i received the package yesterday. needless to say i was late for work today...

The on-line shop I used to pre-order the Season Two set sent me an e-mail today saying that it had already shipped. It may very well arrive tomorrow since the Post has been good as of late. I don't mention them by name because I don't want them to get in trouble but I would like to add that there are places cheaper (and with better service) than Amazon.co.uk for UK residents.

Pre-orders rule!
This Box is awesome! Check out the cool Space-blue design and the much better main menus than in Season one! Check out the cool Eastereggs, additional scenes. CHECK IT OUT!!! This Set ROXX!

Oh, I read a review in the German magazine "DVD-Vision" and they also described this Box as awesome. But they failed to realize all the hidden alien-language-messages so they said that the alien alphabet was "senseless". Well, they suck...

No matter. I'll go watch some more...

Professor: "Better yet. I'll BUILD someone to fill in for you. Some sort of gamma-powered monster with freeway-ramps for arms, and a heart as black as coal..." Bender: "Well, if this new guy can't handle things gimme a call."

Does anyone know when the DVD's are going to be available in the US?
BrainSluggoNov 26th 2002, 00:00
Available in the US? They ain't--not for years.

My Season Two set arrived today, and AmazonUK did a MUCH better job this time around. The shipping box was well-reinforced, and the set was completely undamaged.

The packaging of the set itself was improved, as well; again, it comes with a fragile translucent sleeve that you want to put away safely--but the inner box is sturdier than the Season One set's.

The content has been reviewed elsewhere--and besides, it's Futurama! What the HELL are you waiting for?

Worth it for the Jimmy Carter's Head outtake alone.

(Minor gripelet: These are sets--why are individual discs rated separately? Some "PG", some "(TV)12"--what, do they think I'm going to sell some of the discs? HA!)

The packaging is cool, but the sleeve could have been made with stronger stuff. You know when these ever get released here in the US they won't come in individual disc cases either. I love all the extra art.
