Saddest Futurama News Ever

This is probably both the weirdest and saddest context I saw Futurama in till now.

Alhambra 'White Fence Gang' member Daniel Jesus Arzaga got his first day in court yesterday for an April 22nd 2001 shooting of his girlfriend, her brother and her grandmother. The girl and the grandmother both survived with a bullet in their necks while 12 year old Timothy Kappos died. He was fatally shot while watching the premiere of Futurama: "Bendin' In The Wind".

Sorry, nothing fun to this news entry. Things just don't end funny every time.

Geeze mArc, thanks for the downer. Hey, while you're at it, why don't you put up clips of the last 2 mins of Jurassic Bark and then make us watch the first moments of a war.
reedNov 20th 2002, 00:00
Hey don't lay into mArc, it was relevant Futurama news, if very sad, of course.
daveNov 20th 2002, 00:00
This reminds me of the time a boy killed his sister because she wouldn't let him watch The Simpsons.
_gtgnut[is]gtgtNov 20th 2002, 00:00
So sad :(
Fucking idot who make things like that >:(
I'm glad I'm not livin' in USA (no offense!)
JoeyJoeJoeNov 20th 2002, 00:00
Oh yeah sure, we won't take offense to that, jerkbag.
KristiNov 20th 2002, 00:00
I don't think this was really Futurama news, but it was interesting. Poor kid. He probably didn't get to see the ending of the show. That's just sad.
ElDragonNov 20th 2002, 00:00
no wonder the ratings are low.....if they keep shooting the fans.....

bah, just to joke things up uppon sad news.
SDNov 20th 2002, 00:00
Let's not be TOO sad. After all, this happened over a year and a half ago.
MasterLukeNov 20th 2002, 00:00
what has this got to do with futurama?
EvanNov 20th 2002, 00:00
Kristi - Yeah, the fact that he probably didn't get to see the ending is the sad part. Riiiiiiight....

BTW, this is not "Futurama news". Bad call, mArc.
keyboardsamuraiNov 20th 2002, 00:00
You guys think the saddest part is that he didn't get to finish the show? Jeese some respect. He died doing what he loved, watching Futurama
aslateNov 20th 2002, 00:00
mArc, bad choice. As much as he was watching Futurama, i don't think it was worthy of a post on CGEF.
It's a sad and tragic loss of life, and a pointless death but it's over a year and a half ago and frankly, even though he was watching Futurama, it wasn't a good idea to CGEF it.
This isn't me moaning or anything, but just saying, i didn't expect this sort of thing on CGEF, it's not relevent to us.
JonNov 20th 2002, 00:00
What aslate said.
TomDakNov 20th 2002, 00:00
I agree it wasent Front Page CGEF news, but at least mArc thought we might like to know. Im sure from the overly negative comments, that he has learned his lesson.
Tin_FoilNov 20th 2002, 00:00
Personally, I wouldn't care if mArc posted up naked pictures of his mother. It's his site and I'm more then glad at all the work he puts into it. I just got done reading a bunch of Jurassic Bark related stuff and was already depressed when I posted.

I still love your site mArc =)

I don't think Bendin' in the Wind was ever a premiere...that episode aired this year the night The Simpsons' halloween special, and the King of the Hill and Malcolm premieres aired, so its probably just a mix up based on that (I'm not sure they even announced that Crimes of the Hot was to be this year's premiere on the Fox ads).

Regardless, very sad news. And lay off Marc, as Tin Foil said its his site.

Don't worry, you won't see me posting about my pets, girl adventures, comets, computer set ups or anything else. Some might know that I am a staunch critic of the off-topicness of some other Futurama sites.

I don't know if I would've posted this news entry if I found the story 2 weeks ago. The reason I did now had to do with Jurassic Bark. I think some will figure in which way.
There would've been many easy punchlines I could've added to this entry, but I chose not to for many reasons.

#17: I guess the wording is ambigous. I meant the premiere of the Futurama episode Bending in the wind, not the premiere of Futurama.
NickNov 21st 2002, 00:00
No stories about pets who have adventures with girls while using computers on comets??? Those are my favorite... :(
KristiNov 21st 2002, 00:00
Evan (#10)- Yes, I think the fact that he probably didn't see the ending of the show is sad. It's sad that he died, but it's even sadder that he died before finding out the ending. If I died before finding out the ending I'd be mad... that is, I'd be mad right before dying.
JrrrPopplerNov 21st 2002, 00:00
I don't think that type of thing happens too often in the US, we just hear about it because of the media.

But honestly, the concept of guns doesn't even exist here in Canada. I'd feel so unsafe always.

And I mean come on, how could anyone honestly think its sad that the poor kid didn't get to watch the ending of some episode of a show he may not have even been watching frequently. The little part about him watching futurama when it happened doesn't really matter at all.
zoidbergNov 22nd 2002, 00:00
the guilt...the unbareable guiltttt
cryinggggggggggggggggJul 19th 2005, 02:12
the saddest thing is that he was a little boy, who was murdered at the hands of an angry, selfish, self-centered, pig whos mother and father should be ashamed, to raise such a human being, but one should never forget, what goes around comes around, and Karma is everything. Again the sad part is Timothy Andrew Koppos died and his father, and friends love him and miss him still.
