Can't get enough Futurama

Looks like things are falling into their places. The US will get the Futurama Season 1 DVDs some time in the first half of 2003 according to a chat transcript with Peter Staddon of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment:
Peter Staddon: There are so many TV titles coming down the road that I don't know where to start: Futurama, The Shield, King of the hill, Son of the Beach, nypd Blue, Dark Angel, Angel, Family Guy, and probably a couple that I've overlooked as well.[...]

Deepak JR: [...] Is there any word on Futurama or Family guy coming as season sets in the near future [...]?

Peter Staddon: Both Futurama and Family guy will be out in the first half of 2003.
Other DVD stuff:
  • Family guy Season 2 can be pre-ordered in the UK already.
  • If you got a region 2 capable DVD player, you might still want to buy Futurama DVDs from the UK as the Season 2 DVD set won't be available in the US anytime soon.

    Hopefully now those nice American Futurama fans can show FOX just how much of a fanbase the show has. I'd say it's pretty important that the DVDs sell well when they are released in the USA, since FOX would make more eps if they thought they would make money from it.

    The problem is, the other rumours I had coming up indicated a May release -- which would be too late for a renewal of the show.

    Awesome. I'm def buying them. Sadly, I liked S2 more than S1, so I'll have to wait for the good eps, since I want all the seasons in R1 so I can play them in any DVD player :(
    Once they hit amazon.com I'll probably buy them with a nice 20% off or something.

    Let's hope season 1 is out before May so that we can get Futurama renewed.

    I don't know why it hasn't been released in the US before. So strange.
    I have had S1 and S2 for some time now and they rock. The audio commentaries are really funny. John DiMaggio's laugher is weird..

    I already bought S1 and S2 over here in Germany. They are brilliant as expected.

    You can be sure I will be first in line when S3 is available here.

    Now if only there was an S4.

    The Season 1 set is now available for pre-order from Amazon- delivery in March! Hmm. Now I wish I hadn't bought that region-free player to buy them from the UK... ah, well. At least I'm a season ahead of the game. :)
