Can't get enough Futurama

US Futurama DVDs in March

According to DVD Toons the american Futurama Season 1 DVDs are scheduled for a 3/25/2003. I've seen contradicting retail prices at either $29.99 or $49.99. Looks like they will be identical to the UK version: 3 DVDs, commentaries on each of them, some out takes, script/storyboard and Animatic to SP3k and a picture gallery. We'll keep you informed.

Just out of curiosity, will the DVD set be released in time before the deadline for possible renewal (i.e. a REAL 5th season) of the series)? If the DVD sells really well, Fox might order a new season. And that'd be really cool. Or would the DVD's be released too late to have any possible affect on Fox's decision?

Zoidfarb - Dunno about brick and mortar stores, but the Season 2 DVDs have managed to stay in the top 80 DVDs on Amazon.co.uk pretty much since they were sold.

Leah - As far as I understood it, around the beginning of May is the time when "We make the decisions whether or not to renew a series" - Fox. So hopefully if lots of people buy it in the first couple of weeks after release, Futurama *might* be saved. Keep your fingers crossed all the time until then.

At last! Aside from an announcement of a real 5th season, this is about the best news I could have hoped for. I'll definitely be checking back here regularly for any more updates or confirmations on this one. Thanks!
