How was the ratings on cartoon? anybody? i hope the blew the ratings out the roof.

cartoon network has really shown how to promote and take care of a show properly.

Futurama ads on the side of busses and on the trains here in chicago, I couldn't believe it

look over and see bender glaring at me when I'm on the L

fox doesn't even tell you about the new episode that they air on sundays, it's always "tonight on fox a great night of comedy, on the simpsons bla bla bla, then on king of the hill bla bla bla, then malcom bla bla bla"

after all that they might finally mention "and it all starts with a new futurama"

wow a whole sentence telling that a new futurama is on in about 3 sec after they finish saying it

oh well

what is really the cool is the little "comics" on pool saftey staring the characters from futurama that they had at the commercial breaks, they were really cool

Even more telling: right after the announcer says "...and it all starts with a new Futurama!," Homer says: "D'OH!!...I mean, woo-hoo."

Eat it, Homer. Your show sucks Guenther's butt now.

I don't see the poster ads here in San Francisco--we don't GET Cartoon Network on cable, can you ******g believe that?--but I see commercials on SciFi and TNT like there's no tomorrow. FOX is going to be very, very sorry about this someday. Hopefully, that day was two months ago and they're still crying.

Why do you hate the simpsons. i may remind you that both david x. cohen and matt both work/worked there, and write/wrote for both series. is not simpsons fault that fox adm. are a buncha losers.

You may remind me all you wish, but none of that matters: "The Simpsons," as it is now, is not only a pale ghost of its former self, it is painful to watch.

Sorry you feel that way, but I still enjoy it. But what I ment to say was: it seems like you blame the simpsons for futurama's cancelation.

BrainSluggo -- I so agree with you. I don't want this to turn into a Simpson Bash-A-Thon (seasons 3 - 11 are still some of the funniest things I've ever seen), but they have went down hill. In the Simpons prime, it was better then Futurama, IMHO, but the last 3 seasons have been horrid. The last funny thing the Simpsons did was the Homer Clone thing in the Halloween ep. The rest of that ep/season sucked, but that 7 mins reminded me why I'm buying all the Simpson's DVDs.

Long story short, I hope Cartoon Network makes TONS of money off this Futurama deal. I don't get CN, but I've always liked what they tried to do (minus the Tom and Jerry editing -- that was poor).

I hope CN order new ep. so the Futurama machine starts again. i have not seen the simpsons season 14. it has not been aired in norway... we've just began on season 13. i've seen homer clone thing on the net, and that was great.

IMO Futurama is far better than The Simpsosn has ever ever been. It's in a class of it's own. And I am a big Simpsons fan too.

It's almost arousing to watch Futurama on the Cartoon Network... I got tears in my eyes when Fry said, 'Alright, I'm a delivery boy'. I love the Cartoon Network. Anyone else notice that they take out a commercial? On Space Pilot it was the second, during The Series Has Landed, it was the first... I wonder why?

CN is doing a great job promoting the show AND they know when to air it. They run a disclaimer at the top of the 11:00PM hour to alert parents to the content - it's a CARTOON FOR ADULTS!!! Meanwhile, Fox keeps it on SUNDAY NIGHTS AT 7:00PM. May I remind you all that that time slot has been reserved for such shows as THE WALTONS!!!

They cut one of the commercial slots so they can get the entire show in without having to chop scenes. You may have noticed that syndicated episodes of the THE SIMPSONS often have a chopped scene (e.g. Treehouse of Horror with Bill Clinton and Bob Dole - Bill Clinton/Kodos' speech is chopped). Once again, CN does it right - rather than mutilate the show, they dump an ad spot!

I did notice the 'chopped' scenes in the Simpsons re-runs, but if they air these episodes with two commercials, why can't they re-run them with two commercials. I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering.

Because the commercial breaks are longer in syndication than they are on their original airing slots (hard to believe, I know). CN has done us a huge favor by just running a much longer commercial slot at the end of the episode - we get the whole episode, and we get to see it in much more continuity. Thanks, CN!
