Nooooo... Hello, Season 6.

This is pathetic. On February 16th Fox is showing 2 *new* Simpsons episodes on the same night, and a repeat. That should be Futurama.

But who cares. I hate it anyway.

Now, now, let's not get nasty. FOX pays its programming executives a lot of money to purchase high quality programs for our amusement. You know, shows like "Girls Club" (canceled after two episodes), and "Firefly".

On second thought, nuke 'em till they glow, then shoot 'em in the dark!

What the hell is wrong with Fox? They just keep getting stupider and stupider. I'm seriously beginning to doubt if those network executives even have brains at all. If they actually go so far as to stretch season four into season six, I'll go insane. And if they don't show The Why of Fry this season, I'll go absolutely crazy. Well, anyway, I hope somebody shoots down those network executives, because those idiotic bastards sure as hell deserve it.

Well, you are absolutely right. The problem at Fox actually is one of intellectual hierarchy. I'll explain. Once, the big boss at Fox (let's suppose that his brain is at a medium level which is not bad) had to hire directors, but what to do? Should he hire people that are brighter than him? No way! Too much risks to see those brighter directors take over his position while he's there. So he just hires directors that are less bright than him. So here we have directors who have lower-than medium brains.

But those same directors also have to hire seconds, so what do they do? The same thing and for the same reasons , and we end up with vice-directors who are even less smart...And so on.

And this is just the short-term effect, because on the long-term, the big boss as well as the directors have to retire someday, so who takes over? One of the dumber seconds of course who have the job to hire new seconds and who choose people even less bright... And the cycle continues.

So looking at the situation today, I'd say that we are at a time where poeple with an IQ over 90 is something that doesn't exist anymore at Fox.

You know if Season 5 doesn't end this year then Fox really has only 2 things to do. Not show the last few episodes ever............ or they'd have to order more episodes, wouldn't they? Cause they can't have a Season 6 with 2 episodes, can they???

Sure they can. One in December and one in March. Business as usual.

Wow American TV realy sucks! In England when a new series starts the network actually shows all the episoes at a consistant time slot week by week. Since Futurama season '5' is starting on Sky 1 in March, we'll probably get to see all the 'new' episodes before you poor people in the US. Sorry, im not trying to rub it in, but thats probaly what will happen. Unless Fox prevent Sky from airing the episodes until they have, in that case well probably be seeing the episode for the first time on the region 2 season 4 DVD. Which should be out for Xmas!

Unfortunately I very much doubt Fox will let Sky air any new episodes before them. One can only hope though...

Also, #13, that's not technically true for all shows. It certainly is for Enterprise and the other Star Trek shows, but The Simpsons, for example, only airs new episodes every 2-3 weeks. Futurama, as you say, normally ends up being aired in sequence, but I believe for the last season they stopped airing until FOX had moved ahead again. I still don't see what the problem for FOX is:

a) They're part of the same conglomerate

b) You can't get FOX here in the UK (and vice versa with Sky?)

Of course, they're probably worried about the "D" word. (Although they're certainly not gaining advertising money at the moment, are they?)

I reckon you could argue FOX is holding the eps hostage. Maybe we could deploy the SAS to retrieve them ;).

If the hostage saving operation proves successful, let me know :).

And come to think of it, there's something else. Let's just pretend that the exceedingly highly unlikely circumstance that Sky can show the "season five" eps before Fox were true. But isn't it true that the channels in the UK edit Futurama heavily? Then the D-word wouldn't really matter, because it's not like we can acquire the complete episode. We would still rely on Fox here, because ultimately they're the ones who would show the uncensored eps. Of course, till Fox shows 'em, it'll probably be the year 2068 already, or possibly later. Stupid Fox.

To #16 yeah I suppose that the heavy editing from channel 4 and sky is a big downfall. I never realised how bad it was until I got the season 1 and 2 DVDs. On channel 4 the court case scene in the episode When Aliens Attack made no sense due to the details of "the hot naked affair" being omitted. And terms like Zoidbergs "Male Jelly" were not included. Sky tends to be slightly less brutal but what would you expect from a 'family' channel that also airs shows like "Naked in Blackpool" and "Sex on the Beach". But to be fair to Sky 1 they treat Futurama quite well, it is currently aired every saturday at 8:00pm and during holiday seasons we get 2 episodes every weekday.

hmm, it seems that with the way Fox is airing these episodes, Futurama is going to be renamed to 'Pastorama' before it is done.

So funny, and yet so true..

The FOX Network is going down the toilet. It had a near perfect Sunday lineup and it's ruining it. FOX has nothing original to offer now (other than FUTURAMA, KING OF THE HILL, 24, SIMPSONS, MALCOM, BERNIE MAC, THAT 70's SHOW, ANDY RICHTER...) Half of it's weekly lineup is made up of stupid specials, movies everyone has seen before, and.... reruns.

Stop treating great shows with little respect. I have the perfect FOX SUNDAY LINEUP...

You think Futurama at 7:00 is "perfect"?

Futurama should be on around 9pm, to get the viewers it deserves.

From what I heard about Family Guy is basically they had a small staff (well SMALLER staff) then most cartoons and couldn't produce it as quickly as Fox wanted it. So Family Guy coming back is slim. Also Greg the Bunny.

Plus I believe he meant Central time not Eastern.
