Cartoon Network happy with Futurama

Been listening to radio lately? That funny thing with the defective picture signal? You might just have picked up another Futurama promotion by Cartoon Network then. After having ads for Futurama on diverse TV channels such as CNN, sides of busses in the bigger cities and in men's restrooms(!), Cartoon Network continues its fabulous treatment of Futurama with these goodies. Does it pay? Hear (read) from them yourself:
Young adults, and particularly young men, also are flocking to Cartoon Network, thanks to the Sunday-Thursday presentation of Adult Swim (11 p.m.-2 a.m.). Futurama on Sunday night (11 p.m.) showed triple-digit increases with all key demos, scoring its highest delivery/ratings to-date with adults 18-34 (557,000/0.9), men 18-34 (435,000/1.4) and men 18-24 (186,000/1.4). As a result of Futurama

Good thing, I`ve also seen a commercial in Maxim magazine :-) [Bender and a Robo-chick, drinking beer] I hope C.N. will push Futurama further and FOX shall rott in TV-Hell for it`s ignorance...

There was one in Rolling Stone magazine, also I think. If you have any cartoon network Futurama ads in magazines, feel free to scan them and email them to me. I guess they wouldn't mind the extra promotion on here.

Here in NYC it's the only bright spot of my commute is seeing the posters plastered on all the city buses. Plus, taking the RailRoad in each morning, just about every car has a Futurama Poster. Some with Bender and Robo Chick another with the whole gang with the caption, "See the Future again and again!" (or something to that effect.)
I'll try to remember to bring my camera to work and get a shot or two. :>

maybe they should have gone to CN right from the beginning...

There was mArc!

This makes me warm and tingly all over because if they continue to have success with this they might be able to pull in more banished cartoons! Plus if it gets really high they might start producing there own WOHOO!

I know that deep down everyone thinks that Futurama is doomed, but if it keeps performing like this on Cartoon Network i honestly believe that they will buy the rights from Fox and start poducing more epiosdes. If this fails, When the Futuama movie is released around 2005 (aparently) if it is a success, and Fox are still sitting on the rights to the show, they will do everything they can to cash in. Futurama has the luxury of being an animation, as a result the 'actors' never age and production could be resumed at almost any point in the future (maybe even in the year 3000!).
PS: Does anybody know when and if Futurama will be shown on cartoon network in the UK?

This might be the one thing that changes Fox's no go decision of Futurama. If it is doing well on CN then it is getting a fan base and all these new fans would want to see more episodes. This could be the very thing that changes the no go decision...then again it might not!

#6, I don't think CN UK will show Futurama, as the rights to Futurama in the UK belong to Sky and C4.

as a uk fan i can't say that this effects me directly. but if they are having the levl of success, it just shows that the show is popular and lets hope it continues and increases. i have to say i would be in favour of c.n. buying the rights to the show, and commisioning more shows themselves. i just want more episodes, we can't let such a fantastic show be cut down in its rpime when the simpsons has been continued on for so long.

long live the futurama - c.n. us partnership.
