In the wrongful death of Futurama and Family Guy by the "Evil Bastards" at Fox, I, Silent G with my trustly talking car S.I.F.T. (Silent Industies Four Thousand), will put a stop to the "Evil Bastards" at Fox. Although we may copied Knight Rider,at least I look better than David Whathisname. SIFT and I will go though hell in order to stop those "Evil Bastards" and take control of Fox and give it to the good people of tv (if any exist ;))so Futurama and Family Guy can return to Fox with respect this time.

I got bored of tv and I was thinking how cool it would be to kick the bad guys' ass at Fox in a Knight Rider car,the only good part of that show. Now that would be good television or a kick-ass movie.

Two words: Fox Sucks!

If Cartoon Network was ballsy enough, they should start airing Futurama at the same time Fox is supposed to air it.
They don't have to change the timeslot, just add another episode.
If FOX was beaten in the ratings in a prime timeslot with a show they don't want to air, that would be the ultimate kick in the ass

Well, Cartoon Network certainly has the incentive to buy full rights to Futurama from FOX and then embarrass them by rubbing the show's success in their faces. Let's just hope they have the balls.

There's poster in the new issue of Maxim magazine for Adult Swim. I think it's a "collect all 4" type of thing, but my copy of the issue features a poster of Bender trying to look seductive in tiny leopard-skin underwear, and holding a cigar. It's hilarious.... I'm putting this on my wall!!

Let's begin a grass roots movement to show Cartoon Network that its success with Futurama is no fluke. We would ultimately try to convince them to buy the rights to and start producing more episodes.

We could start a petition to Cartoon Network, where we ask them to produce new episodes. 13, 18 or 22 in the year. It doesn``t matter, all we want is to see new episodes of our favourite show that we all love so much.

I really don't think there's any chance of Cartoon Network funding new Futurama episodes. From what I've read the process is very involving and costly. Not to mention they'd have to re-assemble the team which has undoubtedly moved on by now...

If CN can afford new series and to continue shows like Home Movies, etc, couldn't they fund Futurama? Especially, since its the best show on the network despite the costs?

Every Futurama episode cost $1,000,000 mill to produce. So if they produced 13 for every season, they should afford it. CN did pay $10,000,000 to FOX to get rights for all 72 episodes.

Hey, I wouldn't even mind it if Futurama episodes were produced as specials -- say 4 or 5 per year. Kinda like how infrequently new episodes of Space Ghost are introduced these days.

CN could spend 5 mil a year making five new eps of Futurama and totally make a killing in the ratings if they promoted them enough.

Yeah if cartoon network begins to make new futurama they will force their morals on us! I'm still ticked off that they removed the word jesus from "sweet zombie jesus" and "holy zombie jesus"! It's on adult swim surley we can handle that statement. If not don't watch it! Scr*w cartoon network they shouldn't even show it if they are going to edit it!

Those editing bits are extremely minor, so I can live with them.

As for all the people bragging about how great CN's ratings are with Futurama, well, they're good, for Cartoon Network. 850,000 is still a pretty piddling share and isn't that great a rating, at least not in terms of prime-time network programming.

And the costs for the show go up the fewer episodes you make. Look at it this way, if you spend $5 million to build a factory, and build only 5 cars, then you have to sell them for a million dollars a piece to try and break even. Make a million cars (hypothetically) and you only have to sell them at $5 to break even. Extreme example, but still.

Cartoon Network is owned by AOL Time-Warner, as in, the AOL Time-Warner that has lost a couple billion dollars in value since the merger, as in, the company that isn't going to risk millions of dollars on a show for one of its smaller networks that pulls about a 1.9 share. $10 mil for 72 episodes works out to about $140,000 per episode, a helluva lot cheaper than $1 million a piece (or more) for new episodes.

The shows that CN does make new episodes are either people they got on the cheap because they were unknowns(Genndy Tartakovsky with Dexter's Lab/Samurai Jack and Craig McCracken with PowerPuff Girls) or stuff that has super low production costs (SeaLab 2021, Aqua-Teen Hunger Force, Space Ghost)
