Looks to me like the only series worth renewing is Futurama. For a show to be popular it has to be funny, innovative, and smart, all these other shows lack these characteristics to the greatest extent possible. Does it surprise me? no. Fox executives ,like most tv executives, are dim witted over paid feeble stupid idiots. These lousy bums are out to wreck the world with no regard for anyone of the human species. If I were to ask a hobo living in a dumpster to create a tv line-up I would be certain that he would beat all of these tv jerks hands down. Go to hell you bozos and take your crackpot lawyers with you, you're ruining creative geniouses and ruining television entertainment for everyone.

This whole cancellation issue just seems to be going on and on and on... Believe me I want Futurama to be renewed more than anybody, but If Fox don't plan to, I wish they'd just tell us officialy, final word, fin. Insted of ignoring the issue and hoping that people will forget about the show. I think that when they first anounced that they weren't ordering more episodes they were suprised by the huge uproar. Now they are too proud to admit they were wrong and resume prodution, but they're also too embaressed and spineless to officially say they cancelled it!
This "upfront week"? can the advertisers actually have any effect on Futurama coming back. If they basically say "your line-up sucks, give us some quality shows like Futurama"

After this, if Futurama is offically cancelled by Fox, then technically another network can legally pick it up, right?

Finally, is it possible that Fox could find a way to not offically cancel the show, and not bring it back, and just let it float in limbo forever!?

Please FOX, either AIR FUTURAMA or CANCEL IT. If you are not going to be willing to put episodes on the air, then at least let another station do so.

The sad thing is, even if FOX did renew Futurama, it would be a year or more before a new episode could be ready.

This isn't a stupid family sitcom where you can hack out an episode in a matter of weeks (yes, quality takes longer, but I'm just saying...). After writers are hired and artists are trained in the Groening style, the animation process is a very, very long one. High quality animation like Futurama uses (detailed backgrounds, fluid, moving characters, 3-D) takes even longer.

So FOX, please pull the trigger and be done with it. Hopefully someone is smart enough to see the success Futurama is having on Cartoon Network and can put together a syndication deal now, so that new episodes can be ready to syndicate when CN's current rights run out.

We really shouldve got on that writing to the advertisers thing... its not too late, someone watch a bunch of FOX one night and write down all the products that advertise on there, we'll hunt down the email addresses and mass-mail them with our frustration with FOX and tell them to tell FOX to bring back futurama or they'll take their ads to other networks

I live in england, and last week we caught up to where fox are, I am sad that there are only a few episodes left. I just hope that fox are kind/sensible enough to renew the show for at least another season, I don't care how long it takes, as long as I have something to look forward to.

I can't understand why showing Bobby Hill would be more entertaining than Futurama all together? I like all the main characters in Futurama but in King of the Hill is not the same case. Bobby Hill, Peggy Hill, and that LuAnn girl all need to be cut or reinvented from that show. Everybody else is alright. Those "Fox execs." better put Futurama back on a good timeslot like right after the Simpsons. It is the only logicial way but these are "Fox execs." that I am talking about. Answer me this. What LIVE ACTION show today can match up to this animated
show? The answer is none. The humor is crisp and biting. Even the less
inspired episodes have at least one moment where I am crying I am laughing
so hard! You have a robot who has to consume alcohol to keep his program
from becoming imbalanced. A doctor who wears sandals and will eat lasagne
that has two.... make that three footprints on it. And a delivery boy from the
20th century who it turns out is his own grandfather because he is responsible
for killing the man who should be his real grandfather, and lives with his 30+
great grandson, a 150 no 160 year old mad scientist who runs an
interplanetary delivery service to fund his experiments. I freely admit to being
a Futurama junkie, and I can not live without this show. Thank God for the
Cartoon Network. If this show is cancelled, the howels of protest should be
heard from now until the 30th century!

I'm sick to death of Futurama being over shadowed by Fox. It's fantastic! It's what Star Trek should've been if it had gone down the comedy route. It's a great show and us Brits are a bit pissed off when they say they're cancelling it.
But its not only Fox's fault. Over here in Britain they're showing them at 3 in the morning. Sure they're season 2 repeats but couldn't they put them on at 6 to give the other channel a ratings war between the Simpsons?

I'm not trying to defend Fox, but you have to realize that they're interests are in marketing, not great programming. Futurama is our favorite show, but it doesn't reach across that many marketable groups, so it's all about money. Simpsons still pulls a big audience (and advertising dollars) because of it's "icon" status.

Since the show is co-owned by Fox and Groening's company, Fox would have to be bought out of its share before anyone could make new episodes. The start-up costs would be tremendous, though, since the people at Film Roman (who do the animation) are probably working on new projects by now. I'm sure Groening would have liked to have 100% ownership of the show, but the costs involved are too great, which is why Fox had to sign on. Cartoon Network doesn't have the financial wherewithall to fund new episodes, I don't think.

So, long story short, no more new episodes, reality (not just Fox execs) sucks.

Well, I would think that Futurama would be able to get a bigger audience than say: 'The First Annual Miss Dog Beauty Pageant', which airs tonight, but if it cannot, well what is America coming to?

This is just my opinion, but I think alot of people don't realize that FOX may be cancelling some of these shows out of some conservative moral obligation to keep content as politically correct as possible (We know that 'Family Guy' and 'Futurama' have been risque at times) Just look at the 'Family Guy' DVD...there's an episode that FOX wouldn't even air, and for what? Some Jewish references? Pretty tame if you ask me. I don't know, call me a conspiracy theorist, but whenever something like this happens, I always seem to blame those in power with the $$$ to make it happen.

In any case, it's severely unlikely that if Fox were to cancel the show, that any other network (CN included - they're not known for producing very high-budget animated shows like Futurama, though they're getting closer) will continue production of the show. The best (only?) hope for additional episodes is a renewal by Fox. Is there any point in petitioning or campaigning Fox to renew the show at this point?

Not only Fox doing this stupid thing, but also other networks. Years ago, same thing happened to "The Gargoyle". Disney owns the right and not allow the creator to produce new episodes, even though he wants to so much.

So, if you want to hurt these guys, even if you can't save Futurama, you can make your voice heard in some kind of Fox boycott action. Just don't watch Fox, or if you do have to watch it, make a note not to buy any of the stuff that's advertised on it. If your name happens to be Neilsen Ratings, so much the better!

The XFL was on NBC. It was a joint venture between Titan Sports (WWF / WWE) and NBC broadcasting. You must be thinking of the NFL on FOX.

Hate to tell you this sport, not that it matters, but I'm not mistaken. Fox and NBC both ran the XFL down our throats for one season of Futurama killing bliss.., touche! Those wrestling idiots just put on the glaze veneer. I guess you never watched Fox either, eh?

The XFL was never on FOX. Futurama was constantly pre-empted because of a legit football league (the NFL), but only because they decided to move it from 8:30 to 7:00. Jerks.

Whatever the football league was, it did help kill Futurama in the rating. Bottom-line if sports is on, don't ever try to attempt to show Futurama, KotH, and Simpsons just after the game. It screws up everyone when they show those shows after the game.

The XFL was a joint project between NBC and UPN! Fox had nothing to do with the XFL.

Since UPN isn't carried as widely as Fox, what probably happened was that UPN arranged a carriage agreement with some Fox afflilates in some cities. But Fox had absolutely nothing to do with XFL. That was Dick Ebisol's turkey!

UPN sucks, really. But not as much as FOX though!!

If I could end King of the Hill, it would end like this:

1. Dale would go crazy by some childhood traumatization and gets shut in a mental asylum.

2. Bobby will be teased by other kids at school for being a "momma boy" and committs suicide later on.

3. Hank is FINALLY able to take crap. But one day, Hank craps too much and dies. Or his urethra or whatever falls off...

4. Peggy gets fired after the school finds out she can't UNDERSTAND Spanish. Also, if Peggy loves to teach, why won't she get a full time job? What a moron! (Unless she does everything half-assed. Oh, she should really get fired for that.)
