Can't get enough Futurama

And another Season 2 DVD release date

Now we got a 4th possible Futurama Season 2 DVD release date for the USA and the rest of region 1. Amazon.com lists it as August 3rd and takes preorders for the set again. Weirdly enough, that's a Sunday and probably not that reliable. The price is set at $37.49 which is 25% off of the $49.98 list price. Keep in mind that this set will feature all the 19 2ACV episodes and thus the cost per episode is even lower than for the Futurama Season 1 DVD set.
In conclusion: It will probably arrive sometime during the general August time and is well worth the buy.

August 3rd is a Sunday. (It's also the day that Fox will apparently show "The Devil's Hands....") I read yesterday that Fox had confirmed the August 12th date. Are they going to change it again? If they keep moving it back, they could have season 3 out in region 1 by the end of the year.

yeah... i think we can officially rule out an august 3rd release since it's a sunday. as long as it's within a couple weeks of that date i'll be happy!

most all cd and dvd releases in america are on tuesdays so i would guess it would be either the 5th or the 12th

I myself think that the 12th is the more reliable date, but I still wanted to relay the info. Also, the preorders were down for some time, so that was new.

News Flash! Futuama S2 to be relased in Region 1 on August 3rd.

Make that July 8th.

Wait - we just learned it was released in the US two weeks ago!!!!

From Fox Home Video - The R1 release of Futurama S2 is officially set for "Some point in time to be determined at a future date."

I hope this is now cleared up for everyone.

This is one of the reasons (a big reason) I got a multi region DVD plater. They aren't all that expensive and really worth it if you don't like waiting a few extra years for series you enjoy to be released on DVD.

Come on people. Listen to #8 and get along. It's no ones fault here that they get released later in the US and it's to no one's pride and credit that the EU gets them earlier. Vice versa for the episodes on TV.

Im, sure this post will make me about as popular as mikey#6 but, have you ever realised that over here in the UK we have three seasons on DVD and are only waiting for one more instalment to complete the collection. Yet over there in the US of A, You only have one set and are waiting for three more to complete you collection.

it's people like # 6 and #12 that we dont need, this isnt a talk about oOooOoh we have them first and stuff, i mean you guys come on this is Futurama the most ultimate thing ever and little snobs that just boast about somthing stupid dont appreciate the series if that is all they care about all you guys need to do is buy blank tapes and tape the seasons on cartoon network as something that will bide the time for the wait

Uh, amazon is most probably wrong. They are never accurate on release dates. What they usually list is the date they will get the item in stock and orders will start being filled.

Wow James - you made me realize how pitiful my life is. I mean, sure most DVDs and big movies are released here in the US first, sometimes months before heading overseas, and sure we normally pay less for DVDs that you do and sure we get Futurama on TV (uncut) five nights a week now that FOX is airing the final new episodes starting last week, but I won't have a complete collection of Futurama DVDs until probably a year after you do.

You sure are lucky, except that you have to listen to Robbie Williams music over there.

Another option is to get a region-free DVD player and order the DVDs from Amazon UK. Has anyone else done this? I'm really tempted to go ahead and do this. I saw the Norcent-DP300 player advertised for $50 on Amazon and it can be hacked to region-free.

I don't know if I can wait another year for all the DVDs to come out here!

I live in the UK and have all 3 seasons on DVD, but I'm REALLY jealous of you guys in the US. Getting new Futurama (rarely admittedly) on FOX, and 5 nights a week on CN. Wish C4 would hurry up and start airing "season 3" so i can see the 3 season 4 eps in it.

Why is it that the EU get the DVD's first though?
as #16 says, usually you guys in the USA get everything months before us. I am glad the DVD's are out but still, what it is about futurama that means we get it before you?

I have an Apex DVD player that I made region free and I order the DVDs from England. I should be getting my Season 3 early next week. It takes a little more then a week for the items to arrive with the regular shipping. Also dont forgot that when you look at the price on amazon.co.uk that you wont be paying whats listed there as that price includes the VAT (I think that you will pay about 15-20% less then that). The total price that I paid for season was $46.00. Its a little more then the price will be in the US but I think that its worth it to be able to watch the DVDs beofre anyone else in the US.

europe gets the dvds first because there is no (or much less) syndication market there compared to the hundreds of US channels airing repeats
