The IGN Film Force section is on its path through a 5 part interview installment with Cartoon Network's Adult Swim senior vice president Mike Lazzo. The first few parts steered around the whole Futurama/Family Guy topic, but now it's getting interesting:

I am glad at least some people understand how BADLY FOX has treated Futurama and how good a show it is.

I'm not expecting a miracle, but it is nice to know that at least some people in the TV biz know that there is an audience out there for Futurama, Family Guy, and comedy shows in general that do not insult our intelligence with laugh tracks.

Mike Lazzo understands GOOD TV. I think it will be easyer to re-lunch Futurama, then Family Guy.

If there is to be another Futurama, wouldn't it make sense to have another Anthology of Interest. I would think it would be easier (you can ignore story arcs, you only need writers to write an 7 minute script, not 21, although the writers have said that that is harder sometimes). It seems a shame that the fourth production season doesn't have one. Oh well, just a thought.

First of all, I just recently had the opportunity to see the entirety of so many Futurama episodes. I can't get over how angry I was that my favourite new programme was constantly pre-empted by football. How can I enjoy a programme if I miss the majority of it? I'll let the geniuses at FOX mull over that for a millenia or so. Perhaps by then they will realise their many mistakes.

By the way, my brother bought the Futurama DVD Series one last week. We absolutely love it and our jealous of our brethren across the Atlantic that are enjoying Series two & three right now.

I am telling everyone I know to check out Futurama. One friend I talked to tonight said he tried to watch it, but it was always pre-empted or not shown at all. Guess who's borrowing our DVDs tomorrow.

Keep the faith. Futurama is quality fun and the best animation ever.
