Can't get enough Futurama

"And this is how it must end?" - Bender

Two more episodes to go and we put some more detailed description up for both Bender should not be allowed on TV and "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings". The complete description of the series finale will be published by FOX on their site later this coming week but it sadly includes a bit too much information. So, here's a slightly defused version:
Fry, in an effort to win Leela's love, makes a deal with the Robot Devil to become a gifted musician. He has tried to take Holophoner lessons, but his teacher claimed he had "stupid fingers." Bender realizes that the Robot Devil is the only one to help. Fry makes a deal only to regret it immediately as it comes with a hefty price.
If people protest the detail cutting too much in the comments, I might add more using a spoiler box, though I really think you should go into this episode without too much pre-knowledge.

Thanks to Brian from The Futon Critic for supplying us with the descriptions over the past few weeks.

I'm looking forward to it as always.

Same here, but i am curious as to what the spoiler in the description was.
OtisPJivefunkJul 30th 2003, 00:00
Same here, on both accounts.
IcehousemanJul 30th 2003, 00:00
Curious about the spoiler, but want to wait until I see the episode. It's less than two weeks away, anyways.
KazzahdraneJul 30th 2003, 00:00
Thank you, thank you, thank you mArc. I'd been agonising over whether the long description of the episode would be heaped with spoilers, and I'm glad to see you've cut it down. I've read enough to whet my appetite, don't want to know any more than this before I see the final episode.
RockoJul 30th 2003, 00:00
This sucks. Only two more eps. Oh well. Thanx for not putting in too much information MARC. I think we can all wait two weeks for the episode without bieng spoiled to death. It is, after all, the series finale.
JamesDeanJul 30th 2003, 00:00
man, i dont understand why anyone would wanna spoil the surprise that comes with each episode... it is a great effort i must put forth to avoid reading all the spoilers on the site
JamesJul 30th 2003, 00:00
I actually find it really hard to not read spoilers. Although I usually do give in, it still doesn't spoil the episode, as there's always so much other stuff I didn't expect. It actually helps you take it all in.
So I'd actually like to read the extended description, as long as it doesn't actually give away the ending or something.
I guess that I just "Can't Get Enough Futurama"...... So, do I get paid for that plug or what?
KennyJul 30th 2003, 00:00
i cant wait
RoverJul 30th 2003, 00:00
I'm really excited to see the episode, but I'm gonna be overwhelmed with sadness. The series finale. It shouldn't have to end so soon.
homerjaysimpsonJul 30th 2003, 00:00
Like that one old Monkees episode The Devil And Peter Tork where Peter Tork wanted to play the harp.He sold his soul to play it great or The Simpsons THOH IV episode where homer sold his soul for a donut.

They are all based on the novel "The Devil And Daniel Webster".

I feel like to much of Geek now.:p
zoobesJul 30th 2003, 00:00
:(

That's all I can say for now. Sorry if I caused unhappiness amongst the rest of you, but Futurama's imminent end is depressing.
RoverJul 30th 2003, 00:00
You shouldn't feel like a geek #11. A lot of people have read the novel or seen the play, including me. ;)
HamNEggs116Jul 30th 2003, 00:00
its true #11, theres nothin wrong with being a well read person. lol, u just dont usually find many on a futurama web page.
knowsfordsJul 30th 2003, 00:00
I think its good they made another episode with the holophoner, it enables fry to speak the words he is too stupid to fathom.

*sighs* All great things must come to an end, and god willing we will all meet in spaceba... err futurama the movie
JollymonJul 30th 2003, 00:00
The episodes look like thier gonna be great. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the feeling at the end of the episode. The "Thats it, no more Futurama." feeling.
knowsfordsJul 30th 2003, 00:00
uh why was my comment removed? there wasn't anything in any way off topic/offensive or anything, has somebody got it in for me?
SXJul 31st 2003, 00:00
Well, at least your comments can get through. Half the time my can't get through and have "Sorry You May Not Post Here" pink box.

Fox is making the biggest mistake of its short exisit by dumping Futurama. Soon Fox will become bankrupt and the media will tear Gail Berman to bits with scandels and other good stuff. I can't wait until that happens because she deserves it for destroying good shows like Futurama and replaces it with crap like Banzai or Oliver Beene.

HamNEggs116Jul 31st 2003, 00:00
lol #18. or even worse... THE PITTS!!!
RoverJul 31st 2003, 00:00
Is gail berman a guy or a girl? Cause I saw another post stating...it...was a guy. Either way Gail is a dumbass. It sickens me that fox won't even bother to advertise it. Lousy bastards.
KristiJul 31st 2003, 00:00
Gail Berman is a woman. A very, very ugly woman.
zoobesJul 31st 2003, 00:00
That figures.

Banzai, quite frankly, is the crappiest crap I've seen in my life. During promotionals, I couldn't even understand what they were trying to do. Then I watched it, and I still don't know what they are trying to do. It could be a little less bearable if the announcers weren't yelling and screaming with mouths large enough to cover half their face, if there weren't random assortments of dashes and strokes nowhere near representing Chinese words (despite the announcers' being Japanese) and if the announcers' accents weren't so horrible with a plethora of solecism.
RoverJul 31st 2003, 00:00
Who watches banzai anyways? Eh, never mind. It's probably some shit-faced assholes who have nothing better to do on a sunday night.
HamNEggs116Jul 31st 2003, 00:00
lol #18. i have nothing better to do on a sunday night and i still cant stand the show for more than 2 minutes.
IamawhoreAug 1st 2003, 00:00
I am a whore.
ScruffyAug 1st 2003, 00:00
Everyone knows that fox only hired Gail Berman because National Organization for Women called Fox the "network of shame" for shows like "Who wants to marry ..." She had to have something against Futurama because even though the show won awards and was good (better than any other show they had on the air) she didn't move it to a better time slot. Then she replaced Futurama with junk like Banzai and some other shows that are just sad. Too bad becuase Futurama was good and it had a better chance then that other stuff.
DaveEAug 1st 2003, 00:00
I just sent fox an e-mail telling them they're all a bunch of idiots, but I'm sure they get 10 million e-mails day...telling them they're idiots, that is.
AndrewAug 1st 2003, 00:00
If you want to help your disgust for Banzai - just watch EP 3ACV22 - 30% Iron Chef - all the japanese shouting is basically the same idea...only Banzai isnt smart enough to teach you a recipe or anything useful! "Irrooonnooo Coookerooo!"
zoobesAug 1st 2003, 00:00
Plus, Banzai sounds more Chinese than Japanese...
ChrisAug 4th 2003, 00:00
Banzai wasn't funny years ago when it was on USA Network, and at least then it served SOME purpose: winning actual items during the movies they played.

Now, it just shows how cheap Fox is. Instead of sticking with a show with a loyal fanbase like Futurama, they'd rather take the cheap route, and prove even more why Fox is known as the lowest common denominator of television.

And does the Banzai guy laughing before the start of Futurama make anyone else think it's something along the lines of Homer's "D'oh!"? A slap in the face to the fans that know we have to watch Fox to find out how our favorite show turns out? Maybe Gail shouldn't be mixing up the medication...
PaulAug 4th 2003, 00:00
Did anyone notice that the discription for The Devils Hands are Idol Play Things says Season Finale...not Series Finale?
h-s-AssassinAug 4th 2003, 00:00
If any one hasn't read the description on fox about, "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings" on fox's website. The description doesn't show too much information.
