Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

Futurama took Top in June on CN

The June top telecasts on Cartoon Network are out and Futurama managed to take the very top. Also, it got the third most watched cast. Also, the 4th. Also, the 6th. And then some more in the 10th to 100th area. A total of 15% of the list is Futurama with Family Guy filling up nearly all the left over spaces in the top 10. Here's the top 15:
#01 - Futurama "30% Iron Chef" - 2.4/5
#02 - Family Guy "Holy Crap!" - 2.3/5
#03 - Futurama "I, Roommate" - 2.3/5
#04 - Futurama "The Series Has Landed" - 2.3/5
#05 - Family Guy "A Hero Sits Next Door" - 2.3/6
#06 - Futurama "Leela's Homeworld" - 2.3/5
#07 - Family Guy "I Never Met the Dead Man" - 2.3/5
#08 - Family Guy "Death Has a Shadow" - 2.3/5
#09 - Dexters Laboratory - 2.3/5
#10 - Family Guy "There's s.th. About Paulie" - 2.2/5
#11 - Futurama "Space Pilot 3000" - 2.2/4
#12 - Family Guy "Chitty Chitty Death Bang" - 2.2/5
#13 - Futurama "Roswell That Ends Well" - 2.2/4
#14 - Code Name: Kids Next Door 2.2/4
#15 - X-Men 2.1/4
Futurama also got #17 #19 #25 #26 #34 #36 #43 #73 #82 #123 #130 #133 and #135

This might explain why the Futurama hiatus on CN didn't really last as long as planned for.

Thanks go to lfv for the data match up work.

Wow this is great!!! Way to go Futurama and CN!
GreggAug 8th 2003, 00:00
Doesn't really surprise me. Fox really are in the minority with their stupid thoughts about Futurama getting shit ratings aren't they?
ScottOAug 8th 2003, 00:00
NICE!!!

Hilarious. Hopefully more networks will see the success of Futurama on CN and try to follow suit.

it would be alright if other channels aired futurama i just dont want to see the same epiode 4 times in a row
HamNEggs116Aug 8th 2003, 00:00
2 networks is about as many as there should be unless there was a miracle and somebody started making new episodes.
JoshAug 8th 2003, 00:00
Thank God Cartoon Network picked up futurama and Family Guy. These shows are hilarious. Mabey some day we'll see new episodes again. Go CN!!!
RoverAug 8th 2003, 00:00
Yeah maybe, josh. Let's keep praying for that to happen. I've got my fingers crossed. I wish a curious fox bastard would find this information. That would show them their horrible errors in programming.
RorschachAug 8th 2003, 00:00
Probably Fucx already know about those ratings but they just don't care. After all, what are the chances for CN to be a real competition for them?
JerryPAug 9th 2003, 00:00
These numbers may very well be good for Cartoon Network, but they're still less than Fox gets. Especially if these are cable ratings, which are worth half as much, if I remember correctly.

woah woah woah, first off cn isn't ever going to make new eps because the company would rather buy into older stuff or newer things to boost ratings then please viewers, has tbs shown anythign recently that isn't on another channel (eig friends and seinfield) or a movie?

second if futurama did better than family guy, why would they show home movies in place of futurama and still show family guy? i don't know if they changed it back to futurama then family guy, but if you ask me those two are a winning combo over simpsons any day

whats going to happen when fox ends simpsons' run? what are they going to have left?
RorschachAug 10th 2003, 00:00
Fucx will have nothing left, unless we count king of the hill as something, that's why they don't want to end the simpsons even though they should.
athena1999Aug 10th 2003, 00:00
Well FOX just doesn't see the good in some shows, I guess. They didn't have faith in it, but CN does. When the Simpsons ends, FOX will have nothing left but a load of shitty TV that no one would watch even if they were paid to, and then they'll wish they got Futurama back on the air. I hope.
ScruffyAug 10th 2003, 00:00
When the Simpsons end and people stop watching reality shows Fox has nothing left. When these two things happen Fox will fully see their error.
AlexAug 10th 2003, 00:00
Other than the Simpsons, That 70's show there's no real good shows. people like myslef and others will watch the NFL and MLB. but other than Futurama and Family Guy is better than the new Simpsons. the new ones suck. the one getting nominated for award three gays in a condo is nasty and boring.
ScottieAug 10th 2003, 00:00
I think that Futurama might air online line as a pay per view.
WesMcGeeAug 10th 2003, 00:00
Well, remember that Cartoon Network did manage to get new eps of "Big O" into production from Japan, so never say never. But it is still a major long shot. (See: Cartoon Network got new eps of "Big O" produced as well as spent money on other projects, so their funds are probably low right now.)
JasonMAug 11th 2003, 00:00
IT would be wise if comedy central and cn got together to pay for new episodes that way cost would be lower.does fux own any rights to fr?there really isnt anything on fux for me to watch anymore only simpsons ,i dont like koftheH what really killed me was when they took off the TICK .I really hate fox and all there afilliates upn,wbr,foxnew<----fox news fare and balanced only if your a right wing republican who only listens to what republicans say.
MichaelAug 12th 2003, 00:00
JasonM: Yes, FOX owns at least partial rights, if not full rights, to new episodes. Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. owns rights for syndication I think.
