Can't get enough Futurama

Futurama Schedule Update

A few notes on the scheduling of Futurama on TV.

You might have noticed that the "Top Futurama News" part on this site made way for a list of upcoming Futurama episodes on TV. If so, you may also have wondered why there is a FOX entry showing up on it.

The answer is that FOX is going to air a few more Futurama reruns during the offseason. This Sunday, it's time for Kif to get knocked up a notch. The Sunday after, there will be a Futurama double feature comprising of "Less Than Hero" and "The Why of Fry". Looks like watching old ladies playing a game of wheelchair chicken isn't as big a hit as it would sound like being (the ratings were lower than Futurama's for a few weeks now).

Another Futurama double feature is coming on the UK channel Sky|One: Starting at 19:00 this Sunday, British fans can see both "Bender Should not be allowed on TV" and the series finale "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings".

FOX will allso air "A Taste Of Freedom", and "The Sting" on Aug 31st.

Ha ha ha ha ha! You mean that hideous mess "Banzai!" tanked THAT badly? (By which I mean, it was incredibly heavily advertised and still got beat by "Futurama," which was lucky to get a mention as part of the FOX Sunday line-up.) Sweet. It was awful.

I'll watch my tape full of extended-play-recorded S4 eps until the last DVD set comes out, thanks. FOX is off my set for good now.

"Please, Matt--you have to save our network again! I can't go back to the street! I'm too old and hideous!"

Yah! I have yet to see "A Taste of Freedom", "Kif Get Knocked Up A Notch" and "Less Than Hero". So that's cool in that I don't have to wait around for CN to air them.

What great news that Banzai tanked. Looks like Fox realizes at least a little bit how much of a mistake they made.

I like it - a one stop place for a good futurama tv schedule. Just one comment - TBS shows futurama at 2pm, not 11am, ET (at least in SE Florida).
[-mArc-]Aug 13th 2003, 00:00
Errm, when I put ET, I meant Pacific Time :p I'll get that fixed.
JeffAug 13th 2003, 00:00
Haha. I saw one episode of Bonzai, and it actually wasn't that bad. But it's hilarious/awesome that Futurama is beating it in the ratings. Why can't FOX get the picture?
VamsiAug 13th 2003, 00:00
If FOX had substituted "The Sting" and "Jurassic Bark" for KGKUAN and "Less Than Hero", I'd be happier. Still can't complain to more Futurama!
bankruptAug 13th 2003, 00:00
I wish they would rerun "Crimes of the Hot" and "Jurassic Bark" instead since I missed both of those. I guess I'll just wait for CN to show them or the S4 DVDs, whichever comes first.
GreggAug 13th 2003, 00:00
BANZAI IS W**K. No bones about it. After about 3 series here in the UK and after it lost it's appeal after about the first 3 episodes (and i'm very tolerant before slagging off a TV show), nothing changes the fact that it is utter shite.

WTF Fox bought this show from Channel 4 I don't know. But now it's being exported to other countries, you can bet Channel 4 will be happy to make more :(

Here's another vote to replay Jurassic Bark. Haven't seen it, but I've heard so much about it.

Mr. Groening, Mr. Cohen, Toon Network Execs, please, please, PLEASE produce new Futurama episodes!

Rock On!!!
alittlegirlAug 13th 2003, 00:00
Yay, I get to see The Why of Fry again...yippee!
robotron2084Aug 13th 2003, 00:00
Wow, that's great! Long live futurama!

But really, I must defend Banzai, it's got some great bits, but parts of the show are either a)too UK-related to be funny to Americans b)too risque or graphic for american tv c)not really that funny because they did start to lose it on Season 3.

Just because I love Futurama doesn't mean Banzai's crap.
KimberlyAug 13th 2003, 00:00
Banzai was just random stupidity, and it's not too UK-related. I *heart* Faulty Towers, Monty Python, Keeping up Appearances, and Mr. Bean, and I also find Benny Hill funny - in small doses (his material was a little too repetitive and predictable).

Global TV Canada re-runs Futurama every Saturday at 4:30pm Pacific time.

Sat Aug 16 - The Cyber House Rules.

Hi all!

I'm not sure if anyone knows this, but Gail Berman has had previous jobs prior to getting the "president of cheap-@$$ entertainment" job at FOX.

1. Gail Berman was the president at Regency Television Studios before replacing ex-president Doug Herzog at FOX.

2. She is/was the executive producer on "Buffy," "Angel," and the failed FOX series "Firefly."

She cancelled Dark Angel just because she "didn't like it." Same lame-ass excuse used for the cancellation of Titus, and several other shows. She helped develope Malcolm in the Middle and The Bernie Mac Show (I think). She's very good at taking away such good TV shows, and replacing them with trash like Paradise Hotel, Anything for Love, The OC, Keen Eddie, and the other sh*t shows coming out this next season (2003-2004).

I liked Futurama as much as everyone else here! It'll be missed. It went before its time. :(

Thanks for the info on Gail B. I knew there was
a reason that i didn't like that woman. She did
the exact same thing to Family Guy. But, she's
using both Banzai; and Oliver Beene as a excuse.
She has never liked Futurama. She cut the shows'
advertising out. She allowed affiliates to
schedule it during Football season. Now, she
may try to do the same to KOTH. Thank Goodness
for CN's Adult Swim." The only things worth on
Fox these days, are Malcom in The Middle; and,
the Simpsons." I hope that Fox eats it bad with
this new Fall lineup."

You're welcome, Joan P.

I hate my local FOX station, KAYU FOX-28.
They have this gay-ass line-up called "Laugh Pack." It has 6 sitcoms on from 5 to 8pm, starting with Dharma and Greg, King of the Hill, The Simpsons, That '70s Show, and Will & Grace, plus yet ANOTHER episode of That '70s Show at 7:30pm.

I found out recently that the executives at FOX 28 are pulling Dharma and Greg to make room for more "Simpsons" repeats at 5pm. Ugh... talk about OVEREXPOSURE! My gawd the Simpsons is 14-15 years old and SO many TV stations around the world are viewing syndicated reruns so many times a week. It's so annoying.
