Its about time they spoke their mind about FOX. If it was me i would have done it months ago.

Mr. Groening, Mr. Cohen, CN execs, are you keeping up with this site? We Futurama fans humbly request that you consider bestowing upon us brand-spanking-new Futurama episodes, using the original cast. Please! We truly enjoy this show (right-wingers, left-wingers, and moderates alike).

It would also be fitting if you could, in the opening sequence, feature Bender saying "FOX can bite my shiny metal ass!" and kick off a huge promotion including T-shirt giveaways, Futurama trivia contests (perhaps via this site? Give the folks who own this site fitting reward for providing this forum to promote your show), and offer merchandise for sale.

Hmmm, he's been very optimistic about Futurama's future recently. Is he trying to tell us something? Or dying to tell us something but can't just yet? I hope so....:)

Too hard to discern, Gregg. Perhaps it's wishful thinking so I'm trying to encourage the execs involved to seriously consider a real future for Futurama. Futurama is the kind of show that can have a lifespan similar to that of The Simpsons - right up until the last, Futurama's material was very fresh and entertaining, and the same cannot be said of all of The Simpsons episodes; just most of them. Groening really outdid himself with Futurama and it's a production well worth an extended lifespan because it will be a long, long time before Futurama goes stale.

I' sure Groening MADE Futurama in the first place purely because he looked at the Simpsons and said, "This can't last because it's grounded in reality" And when the reality is taken, as it has in the stupid plots of some of the recent episodes, then it goes aground. But Futurama, grounded in the Sci-Fi universe where anything can happen/be done has LIMITLESS potential for longevity because there's always more planets, more missions, etc.

I think this is why MG is so P.O.ed at Futurama's lack of success. Because Simpsons will die, and nothing will replace it. Futurama could've, but has become, as Bender said, "Yet another classic Sci-Fi TV show cancelled before its time"

It's really good to see these interviews which brings a little hope. Would really like to read one with Matt Groening regarding Futurama. But anyway, I don't know what I would do without this site. It totally rocks!

We should be thankful for CN showing reruns. Making new episodes of a show such as Futurama would be very expensive for a network such as CN.

I bet TBS, Comedy Central or Sci-Fi could afford it, but I don't see that happening.

Because of the way FOX treated Futurama, not a lot of other networks know about it. I don't think TBS can afford Futurama 'cause they do a lot of re-runs in other stuff too.

Been there, done that, only doing it once. I'm not forging any names since it would only hurt the cause, and I would hope that none of you are signing fake names and submitting such notes. It will only lessen the chances of getting the show back. If we want to have our concerns heard and not just brushed off as another useless Internet petition where Mickey Mouse has signed it 80 million times, well, we need to be honest and not forge names.

the letter i wrote to fox:

"I would like to know why you cancelled Futurama. I know this mail won't get through to the bigwigs that make the "important" decisions, but someone should know that the Fox Network is alienating important viewers. I know that shows like American Idol are making your important millions, but once the reality television trend dies down you won't know where to stand. You relied on the bankability of Groening's name along with The Simpsons, and figured Futurama would market itself; unfortunately you failed to properly promote it and give it a STABLE timeslot to gain viewership. The same thing happened to another great series, Family Guy.
What I would like to know is why you gave up on the show, after DVD sales have skyrocketed, the video game is highly anticipated, and the comics are doing so well. Add in the various toys, calendars, and collectibles, and you have an animated empire. Futurama got Cartoon Network's highest ratings these past months. In a time of stale reality television and flat sitcoms, you had something refreshing and intelligent. And you blew it.
I only hope that if some other network were willing to give the series the attention it deserved, you would be willing to let them handle it. Futurama deserves a second chance, and you're obviously not concerned enough with quality television to handle it."

Of course we all want new episodes, i dont think many of the 165,000 changed their mind...
the thing i've always said about Futurama is that there is NO limit to the things they can do. at any time they can go to any planet and this planet can have any government, any species, any rules, any laws, any characteristics and any anything and they have the PERFECT reason to go there - so itll never become ridiculous why they keep finding these strange places
