No one is forcing you to buy it and with this offer, I doubt they'd be the ones missing out if you don't. In any case, boycotting American goods sold by an American company at an American store just because they happen to have a French label kinda puzzles me.

This however really isn't the right place to discuss the Iraq war. If you are set to discuss it with Futurama fans, try the offtopic department of the PEEL message board.

Not only we are not forced to buy it, but if we buy it we dont even have to watch it in french if we don't want to.

Being a french canadian myself, I have to say that I never watch the french translation because it's too different from the original version. The characters' voices are all different from what I'm used to hear and most important, several of the original jokes are untranslatable so they change them and it's not as funny. But I suppose it's the price to pay for any translation.

[-mArc-], after reading that review of season 1, i dont see the advantage of getting the region 1 if you already have the region 2.

Could you help me out here?

That's very interesting that some jokes are untranslatable and change around. It is kind like when shows(Futurama) make jokes that the network(FOX) doesn't understand but the fans do, then the network forces the show to change the joke. Then that is how you wind up with not-so-hot episodes like "I,Roomate" to be made, but the network idiots still don't like the episode even after it was made to make the network executives be happy. The point is don't listen to network executives because they don't know what in the hell they are talking about, especially FOX or Gail Berman.

Hermesagain: There is no real advantage in getting region 1. Only thing different is the languages, the (slim)cases and I think one missing trailer (that is present on region 2).

Season 3 for Region 1 will likely have improved menus though.
