Can't get enough Futurama

Writers Guild Award Nominations

After receiving two Annie Award nomination two weeks ago, Futurama is up for yet another late award!
The Writers Guild of America gave Futurama's writer and previous occupant of the Guild's Animation Caucus' Lifetime Achievement Award Patric Verrone a nomination for his episode "The Sting". He comes in to defend the crown which Ken Keeler captured for Futurama with "Godfellas" last year.

The other contestants in the "Writing in Animation for TV" category are:
  • Simpsons - The Dad Who Knew too Little
  • Simpsons - Moe Baby Blues
  • Simpsons - My Mother the Carjacker
  • King of the Hill - Reborn to be Wild
  • The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron - Rescue Jet Fusion

    So, nothing new on that front. 3 Simpsons, one King of the Hill and one I've never heard of just like last year

    Results will be announced at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City on February 21st.

    #1: I'm not from the US. Maybe it got a different name here or it just never made over the pond.

    We get Jimmy Neutron over here in the UK, but only in the early afternoon, though probably a lot more often on satellite TV.

    Also, I really hope The Sting wins this award. I've not seen these Simpsons eps since we're stuck in the dark ages of seasons with single digits, but they can't possibly be better than The Sting considering what I've heard about the quality of recent Simpsons eps.

    Annie Award Ceremony will be February 7, 2004 and we'll make sure that we announce if futurama wins or loses anything ;)

    holy sh*t!!! I have never seen such a skewed line up in my life. 3 Simpsons. My god someone in the simpsons cast really must have been sucking some major...well never mind. the sting is better than any simpsons episode past 1999 hands down!

    Okay, it's the middle of March. Presumably the Annie Awards actually occurred somewhere. Did Futurama win?
