S3 R1 V3 R2 D2 DVD Set Update

I got something all of you don't have! And no, it's not that thing I had to get taken care of by a doctor the other day... No! Not at all! It's season 3 of Futurama on DVD! Well, ok, maybe some of you have that already... *mumbles something about region 2 people* Anyway, I got season 3 on DVD in region 1 before all of you! Go me! Wooo.. And boy does it kick ass. It's chocked full of episode goodness. It has a little bit of episode crapness, but the goodness outshines the badness. And the commentaries are priceless. If you're interested, I updated the review Marc and edel made for the r2 version of the set with information on the r1 version. With the r1 version, you get a couple of extras: New menus and new sound bytes. So anyway, just go check out the article, it's cool and will make you want to buy the set.

Jon - the reviewer on ING ( had one gripe - interlacing problems effecting the video. His review includes one disturbing screen shot that clearly shows the problem. Having just lived through the bad interlacing on "Monty Python's Meaning of Life" (which, thankfully Universal replaced) I'm a bit concerned.

So - any interlacing problems and if so (or even if not) what player did you use to watch the DVDs?

No interlacing problems for me, and I've watched about half the episodes.

I had picture problems at first, but that was due to my video in/out cord, not the DVDs, and once I replaced the cord, it was crystal clear.

Are there interlacing issues? I read a reveiw that stated there was some interlacing issues but they only had a screener. I am hoping it was just a screener problem.

That was nice review of the R1 Season 3. I can't wait for this to hit U.S. stores. I'm glad the menus have been given some more life to them. Also I love the slim DVD cases. I wish all my DVDs came in these space saving cases!

Funny thing about this diffrent regions on dvd.
Season 4 is allready out on Region 2.The companies does this so they can control releases around the world.What relay happens is that diffrent stores import them, and there you have it.In Norway, region 2, you can get almost anything on region 1 before is released on region 2. What you`ll se more and more of, is that companies will release dvd`s at the same time around the world.

I neer watched the show on tv. I am sadened now for sure. This overtook the simpsons in my heart as the best animated series ever. I am waiting 2 days till season 3...no worries......I just hope the buzz around the net will spawn some kind of comeback

Best DVD set ever!. Even the menus have commentary by Bender, Luhr, etc.

Cool easter eggs, too. Much better than the yearbook photos of season 2.

Hi All;
Just an FYI. The Season 4 boxed set has been released here in Australia; without the glow in the dark cover. The copy I saw didn't have the glow in the dark cover; but; it may just has been removed for display purposes. I got my copy from England a few months back. After the stuff ups with local releases I couldn't be bothered to wait.
Its great to have a complete set of Futurama; but its sad that there won't be any more.

Anyone know how to find the David X. Cohen Easter Egg on the R1 DVD? It's not the same as the R2 version.
