Can't get enough Futurama

Cohen's new Bastard Project

The Hollywood Reporter has a little post on David X. Cohen taking an executive producer role on a potential HBO series called "The Poor Bastard" after having served in the same position for Futurama over the past years.
If turned into reality, the show will be based on the semi-autobiographic comic book with the same title by Joe Matt. Besides Joe and David, Simpsons writer Donick Carey is working on the project.

i know, if futurama comes back david wont be able to do them, unless someone else is going to help matt

or he will do 2 jobs (i hope)

well, DXC said he wanted to take on a smaller role if the show went to a fifth season. so if it did come back, I guess he would be focusing less on futurama and more on this new show.

for this reason, it may be better just to have 1-3 futurama "tv movies" instead of a season so that he could devote serious time to both projects.

Alternatively, Futurama is renewed and this new show sucks major ass, thus DXC goes back to being el geeko at Futurama.

Of course, I wish DXC every success in the world, would never wish him to fail in a project :)

Though I hope, if Futurama does come back, he'll focus on it instead of this new show.

If The Poor bastard fails...or if it doesn't. It's a HBO project. And HBO shows come on every eight months. Four new episodes.....eight months later. A new episode.

So David will be able to do both.

Darn, too bad it's on HBO! HBO costs extra, as it isn't part of basic cable (unless there are exceptions in some areas). Ah well. I'm sure there'll be, um, alternative ways which I shall not name of allowing more people to see this show.

It is a good news, bad news situation.

Good news: David X. Cohen is producing another show.

Bad news: It proves that Futurama is gone for good.

I do wish FOX renews the show, but I hear that many of the staff writers have moved on to different projects. Now, that David X. Cohen has moved on with a different project, it makes it less likely that the show will came back. And if it does, it won't be the same.

well what can i say.....just because this new tv programe is comeing out "the poor bastard" doesn't mean futurama won't come back. i mean c'mon it was a hit!

the only reason it ended was because fox didnt put another order in for the 6th season apparantly... so i'v been told!

and i relised some one has said it won't come back because people hav gone to other projects and it wont be the same

if the futurama team really wanted to make it again it could be done.

Well looking at what the simpsons have become now I understand that some writers start to look elsewhere for something better. And I agree with jake. That doesn't mean that futurama is down for the count.

It can wait a couple more years before coming back, there's no hurry.

Right now Eric Kaplan works on Malcolm in the Middle, Eric Horsted and Pat Verrone wrote for The Mullets. Bill Odenkirk's now at The Simpsons, and will probably leave that for any project Bob O. gets into. Josh Weinstein & Bill Oakley are on The Mullets and The Simpsons. Lew Morton and Ken Keller are pretty much idle.

Seth Mcfarlane makes shows that have very little animation(or original stories). they should be able to make ten family guy type shows at the same time. not that they should. family guy was a horrible show and never should have been made in the first place.

david cohen's middle name isnt x if u listen 2 the DVD commentary it points out that someone elses middle intial was his so he had to change it FUTURAMA RULES
