Futurama Figures
In stores this June are the neatorific new Futurama I-Men Figurines. Two figures per blister card: Fry & Calculon. Bender & Robot Devil, Leela & Roberto, Zoidberg & Morbo, Professor & URL. Hopefully if these sell well, we'll get a second wave of these figures with some other characters like Zapp, Kif, Amy, and Scruffy. To get an idea of what the casing will look like, check out Action-Figure.com. If you want the entire set, you can pre-order it for 30$US at BigBadToyStore.com, or you can wait until it hits stores and retails for about 5$ or 7$ per set of two.

FUTURAMA COMICS #17
By Boothby & Delaney
Fry, Leela, Bender, and Cubert return to Earth from last issue's outer space adventure at boarding school only to find the planet Earth complete uninhabited. But before they can figure out where everyone has gone, they are forced to defend the planet from alien invaders who try to claim it under Intergalactic Planetary Salvage Laws. Fight the Future with Futurama Comics this May!
Relase date: May 26th

FUTURAMA COMICS #18
By Verrone & Rivette
After defending their recently uninhabited world from alien invaders, Fry, Leela, and Bender set out to discover the whereabouts of their missing colleagues as well as billions of citizens from Planet Earth. But "where are they?" soon turns into "when are they?" and "how" and "why" also make a little appearance in Part 2 of "Time Bender Trilogy." Yes, there's time travel - so bring a change of clothes!

I don't really know what's up with this. This confuses me. #17 is suppose to be part two, but #18 is? I don't even know when #18 will be released... Eh, if anyone knows what's up, make a comment.

Futurama Comics Reprint
Coming this September 1st is Futurama Adventures, the second reprint book of Futurama Comics. This trade-paperback will have 5 issues in it rather than the normal 4. #5, #6, #7, #8 and #9. It'll retail for $10.47, and can be pre-ordered right now at Amazon.com

Futurama 2005 Calendar
August 1 2004 marks the day the new Futurama Calendar for 2005 will be released. Futurama calendars sell out extremely quickly online, and are almost impossible to find offline. So get pre-ordering today! They're only $10.39US at Amazon.com

Futurama Volume 4 R1 DVDs
Aching for volume 4 to hit the US? Me too! It's scheduled for August 24th currently. Could be postponed of course. Cross your tentacles.

The way I always understood it was that issue #16 was more a introduction to the Time Bender Trilogy, rather than an actual part of it. As such, #18 is the second issue. Not sure when the story will end though, possibly issue #20? Depends if they count #16 as one of the four parts.

Ahha! Sorta makes sense.

That was like the biggest orgasm of Futurama news ever. If you wait too long it keeps building up and building up and BOOM!
DrJohnZMay 6th 2004, 20:16
Allready got the money for both!

From what I've been told, the centerfold for the calendar will look real cool. But I can't tell you what it is. That would give away the surprise. Let's just say it pays homage to a classic Sci-Fi film. ?!?!?
jmgzz90May 7th 2004, 01:14
YAYYYY!!!! At least there's SOME SORT of release date for Futurama S4!!!

This is by far the best news breakthrough

Ye ye, family guy dvd set comes out in australia on 19th of may.

Question, why have we (aussies) got the futurama set so early, compared to other places?
I mean S4 has been here for a few months.
ZmithyMay 7th 2004, 12:07
It looks like the trade paperbacks will be have five issues in each from now on - it makes sense - issues 10,11,12,13 and 14 in the 3rd book, meaning that the 4th book will contain issue 15, and the entire four-part series.
SeanMay 7th 2004, 22:04
Who saw the the homage in the May 2004 picture.

Still holding out for a *new* front cover on the 2005 Calendar...
IanBoothbyMay 8th 2004, 10:12
Okay a couple of things, one I'm the writer on #18 and it's the third chapter of the four part trilogy.
DrUMay 8th 2004, 12:00
vom, england has had Season 4 for a few months also. perhaps its only america which is behind. does anyone know id the calender is coming to england?
DrUMay 8th 2004, 12:06
another quick question, how come Cartoon Network does't have the rights to show futurama in England but it does in America?
KazzahdraneMay 8th 2004, 15:34
Thanks for clearing that up Ian. Of course, I live in the UK so it will be a "while" before I ever read the trilogy :P
NickMay 8th 2004, 17:39
I got my calendar (2004, not 2005 yet) offline btw ;)

Also second on what Otis said...
JohnSwaineMay 8th 2004, 18:58
Wow, you mean the US doesn't have Series 4 on DVD?

You guys are missing out. Although it's probably just Fox milking the sales. The DVD commentaries on Series 4 are excellent - they get Chris Tyng in a lot.

MrIdiotMay 9th 2004, 13:12

MrIdiotMay 9th 2004, 13:17

maeMay 9th 2004, 17:01
Those are some odd pairs of characters to be packaging together. They don't go together at all.
LeelasTwinMay 10th 2004, 01:57
The DVD BETTER come out August 24, preferably sooner, though that's sure as Robot Hell NOT going to happen, because life sucks and the FOX network hates Futurama and, by association, Matt Groening, Katey Sagal, Billy West, John DiMaggio, David X. Cohen, and all those other cool people. And me, but only because I flipped off their crappy building. (Seriously.) Uh, also, I hate the damn MPAA. They're responsible too...I WANT THE STING'S COMMENTARY NOW, DAMMIT!
DamitolMay 10th 2004, 18:20
Futurama Vol 1 DVDs came out in the US later than the rest of the world due to FOX negotiating syndication rights and the current deal with Cartoon Network at the time. Once that first set was released in the US, the others came out in relativly quick succession (allowing each set to maximize sales first of course and comparable to the time between UK releases) - but nowhere near the slow "once a year" strategy the Simpsons' disks are taking.

P.S. Fox Broadcasting and Fox Home Entertainment are two different entities under the Fox banner. FHE would love to see new Futuramas because the resulting DVDs mean big profit for them. It's the Broadcasting branch that need their heads removed from thier collective butt.

I don't know - I'm happy of course, but still a little sad that Vol. 4 is on the way. Once I pick it up, there is a good change I will never get to buy Futurama DVDs again. Or - strong domestic sales of that fourth set may that little extra push for TPTB to agree that new episodes are a win-win for everyone ala "Family Guy".

Based on experience, I don't 100% expect issue 17 to come out on May 26. Probably a week later, but that don't mean I don't have my hopes up for May 26. Please don't delay it.
humanhornMay 27th 2004, 18:06
Just read Futurama #17 yesterday. Like most of the issues, it's a little inferior to the show. But beggars can't be choosers.

I was a little disturbed at what the waitresses of Hoooters must look like.
futuramafreakaboutfryJul 1st 2004, 21:38
today i was reading issue 11 (again) and i noticed that three of the amazon women are on earth. The amazon women live on a diffrent planet and they had no rason to be there.

P.s. in simpson comics number 94 (the one where the town cant go to sleep) on page 10 in the police station you can see a piece of paper attached to the bulleton board, but in the next square its not there.
