who makes those comics?
Are they writen by the same people who write for the tv serie?
SlackJawedMoronMay 28th 2004, 15:32
Some are, some aren't. Eric Rogers writes a few, and I think Patrick Verrone did at least one.
FRinGesMay 28th 2004, 16:33
I am so buying that today, I want to know what will happen.
humanhornMay 28th 2004, 16:50
Just read Futurama #17 on 5/26/04. Like most of the issues, it's a little inferior to the show. But beggars can't be choosers.

I was a little disturbed at what the waitresses of Hoooters must look like.
Crash7May 28th 2004, 18:08
4 part trilogy???
jake112588May 28th 2004, 19:42
its a three part trilogy with an introduction comic so to speak was comic 16 but that is only an intorduction to the three part trilogy. i beleave the reason is beacuse it dosent invole the going back in time or any type of time travle what so ever.

SomeguyMay 29th 2004, 06:12
Art's a little iffy, but what are you going to do?
fryfanMay 29th 2004, 08:07
I have a question for the writer of comic book, since Boothby likes to post comments on CGEF when a new issue is released.

In the comic book it says, expect issue 18 in July. I thought that Futurama comics was going to be released every three months, but July is over a month from now? I like for it to come quickly, but I want to know was the July thing true, or just a type O?
IanBoothbyMay 29th 2004, 11:31
I'm not sure about the date for the next issue...
futuramacomics@bongocomics.com
should be able to answer that. Glad those of you that liked it liked it. Things get pretty wild next issue.
fryfanMay 29th 2004, 23:28
Thanks IanBoothby, and I forgot to ask when are you guys going to bring Zapp back? He hasn't appeared in Futurama comics since issue 4. He was in a two page spread in issue 11, but that was it. Are there any future stories involving Zapp?
MazuioMay 30th 2004, 06:01
Very good issue, I really dig Leela's outfit on p. 19.
chumpbenderMay 30th 2004, 08:17
Well it seems a lot of you have read it, now review it damn it! Only 3 people have written reviews and given it a rating but lots of you have commented on it here.

And Ian, thanks for the great comic(s). Don't listen to the people here saying the art is iffy, or that it is inferior to the show. The comic is what it is, and I for one am grateful for it.
IanBoothbyMay 30th 2004, 12:22
Zapp is featured in the upcoming Simpsons/Futurama crossover. It's pretty tasty.
MJacksonMay 30th 2004, 14:48
OK Ian Boothby since you actually take the time to read peoples reaction and post here, I really really think you (or somebody else at Bongo)should fire John Delaney! He really isn't good enough at drawing the characters! His art work actually almost ruins otherwise excelent issues such as #17! I'm a big fan of the comics, I think the stories and scripts are always excellent, I really enjoy them as much as the show, but please, PLEASE get James Lloyd or Tom King to do ALL the art work from now on!

Otherwise though, Great work.
efumfMay 30th 2004, 17:02
Still waiting for mine to arrive. Wish there wasn't such a long wait between issues. It must be selling really bad.
NicksheepSMay 30th 2004, 20:19
MJackson: Fire? That's rather harsh? You want someone to lose their job simply because it's your belief the art isn't up to your own personal standard?

I don't have a problem with the art - I'm with chumpbender :)
fryfanMay 30th 2004, 20:25
#14. Will Amy have a bigger part? I'd love to see her have a bigger part. I also hope we get to see Zoidberg and Homer interact more. I picture them fighting over a steak or some kind of food.
IanBoothbyMay 31st 2004, 07:48
I like John Delany's art. But you buy the comic, you're entitled to your opinion.
OtisPJivefunkMay 31st 2004, 23:00
If he got fired there'd be even more delays, less than 4 a year, do you really want to wait that long for your fix? Ok, so quality is better than quantity, but look at Delany's comic art as a bonus on top of the rest. If you didn't get it, you'd just get less, not more of anyone else because they don't have the time. It's not that bad, just not quite perfect...
MJacksonMay 31st 2004, 23:48
OK i'm sorry that what I said sounded rude, and I have nothing against John Delaney personally, so I wouldn't really want him to get fired.
But I honestly think his art work is a real weak point to the otherwise excellent comics.

Just out of interest Ian, how is it decided who gets to do the art for an issue? Is it just given to whoever is free? Or is there more to it?
ohgrJun 1st 2004, 02:57
I have to agree, only some issues have good art work in them. Moreso of the time, the art just doesnt look right, which weakens the comic. Simpsons comics have always had a steady "look" to them, but futurama hasnt been steady at all. I'm not dissing Delany at all, I'm just saying his style of drawing the comics doesnt intrigue me, and hasnt for a while...
humanhornJun 1st 2004, 17:36
I have no problem with the art, the story didn't grab me the way the cartoon does. On a scale of 1-5:
Art: 4
Story: 3 (Still better than 'Lobstertainment' cartoon)

Ian, there's another Simpsons/Futurama x-over? Hooray!
TnidJun 1st 2004, 21:05
I've just seen something strage.
For some reason the link for buying the comic is broken, so i used the main site search tool.
It turns out there is an old comic named Futurama.

I guess some of u already know this, but not for me.
Is there a connection (beside the name) to the series?
TnidJun 1st 2004, 21:11
the link to the comic:
OtisPJivefunkJun 15th 2004, 23:13
C'mon people, we need more reviews. We want the people making these Comics to know we are appreciating them, right?...
lol2024Jun 17th 2004, 17:00
Sorry all but i don't think that N
futurama-coholicJun 18th 2004, 01:12
Where's the info on the next Simpsons/Futurama cross-over? It didnt say anything bout it in #17.
IanBoothbyJun 21st 2004, 03:47
James Lloyd's fingers are falling off from drawing the second crossover as you read this. That baby is packed.
OtisPJivefunkJun 21st 2004, 19:49
Awesome to the max! Can't wait! Also, which issue of Futurama Comics is meant to feature every Futurama character?...
IanBoothbyJun 23rd 2004, 01:53
I can say no more at this time.

->poof<-!
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmJul 28th 2004, 20:44
