Sci-fi museum opens in Seattle

For all us sci-fi geeks, a new museum is opening. Not a old dusty museum but a science fiction museum. Created with $20 million from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, the Science Fiction Museum opens June 18 in a remodeled section of his other museum - the Experience Music Project in Seattle. But here's a quote from Seattle Pi that justifies my posting about it here:
The museum explores developments in fictional space travel; one of the coolest sections is an interactive, computer-animated display that mimics a space station. Several ships float past, from the Enterprise and the Millennium Falcon to the Planet Express of the cartoon TV show "Futurama." Visitors can view images of the ships from any angle, learn about their dimensions and features, and see clips of them in action.

UmmMrXwilldoJun 14th 2004, 12:15
Also to do with #3's post Phil LaMarr who plays the voice of Vamp in Metal Gear Solid 2 is the guy who does the voice of Hermes Conrad and (among others)Lionel Preacherbot.
SlackJawedMoronJun 14th 2004, 13:01
Phil LaMarr also got shot in the face in Pulp Fiction. :D And he was in Jak 2, along with Dave Herman.

But anyways, I'm hoping for a head-in-a-jar exhibit...

Grammar correction:

"that justifies MY posting here"

the pronoun must always be possessive when it modifies a gerund (a verb which is turned into a noun, like jump -> jumping).

Thanks for indulging a moment of grammatical sticklerism. I'm reading Eats, Shoots and Leaves at the moment and feeling empowered.

Why did CGEF erase my message of Anchovies For Fry? I know it had nothing to do with the topic, but isn't CGEF in support of sending a message to FOX on the one year anniversary of the show's cancellation?

Hey, just a quick note: The paper's called the Seattle P.I., not the Seattle pi. It's short for Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Sorry for the ObCom-ness, but my cousin works there.
Zer0Jun 15th 2004, 16:24
Hey just cause I write my name funny dosent make me a geek
HomerJun 15th 2004, 21:20
I don't know, if it ends with "eum", it maybe boring, since it is a museum. Cool things end with stuff like "mania" or "teria"
KazzahdraneJun 15th 2004, 22:21
Or "ama" :)

Also, I work in a museum and it isn't boring!
AndieJun 16th 2004, 07:06
The museum of lesbianity?
relievednerdJun 16th 2004, 16:34
finally, somewhere where my lunch money won't be stolen and used for drugs
KazzahdraneJun 16th 2004, 22:23
I was thinking "The museum of lesborama" :D
FRinGesJun 17th 2004, 19:06

knowsfordsJun 18th 2004, 03:43

SamJun 18th 2004, 09:17

SlackJawedMoronJun 18th 2004, 15:22
9 countries? More like 7!
leelaholicJun 19th 2004, 02:07
Hahaha. That's awesome. I wish there was some way I could go.
goodnewsJun 19th 2004, 02:28

I live in Seattle! Bite my shiny metal ass, every other city in the world.

Also, the billboards advertising the museum are really awesome. Fake ads for a hoverbus and a biosphere apartment complex with "Science Fiction Museum" written in the bottom right corner.
MyAssHurtsJun 27th 2004, 09:02
Fry rules! So do I! But my ass hurts...
LittleJimmyJun 29th 2004, 03:43

My mom (on a vacation to Seattle) visited the museum just this week! Guess what she brought me back...a Futurama refrigerator magnet! It shows all the main characters! As Dr. Zoidberg would say, "WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP! WHOOP!"
