Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

Futurama Con? Nah.

Since 1999, Futurama has had a spot in the San Diego Comic-Con with panel discussions, episode viewings, and autograph signings. But this year there'll be a little less of the Future at Comic-Con. Futurama doesn't have a planned panel discussion, and Matt Groening might not even be attending the four-day event come July 22nd. The information is pretty sketchy at the moment, but there seems to be a Simpsons panel discussion happening at Comic-Con. This information isn't official, seeing as the official CC website doesn't give much information. But sources from the Simpsons production have said there will be a panel for the show.

If you're going to the Con whether or not Futurama or Matt G.'s going to be there, check out the Bongo Comics booth. Futurama writers/artists might be hanging out there signing whatever you have in your backpack. The Bongo booth normally has very rare Futurama and Bongo-related items for auction or sale, so be sure to take some extra cash.

Update:
Turns out Billy West, our beloved voice of Fry, Zoidberg, and Zapp, along with others, will infact be attending Comic-Con! He'll be sharing booth space with Steve Troop's MELONPOOL (Booth 1420) and will also be appearing on Mark Evanier's Cartoon Voice Actors panel (Saturday, July 24, 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM / Room 6AB.)
Thanks to Ken and TVsEgon for the info.

I hope this news isn't true. Matt needs to the keep Futurama alive.
DrJohnZJul 7th 2004, 08:20
A dark post, as Futurama's chances of returning grow even more faint :-( .
KazzahdraneJul 7th 2004, 20:22
I'm sure Matt's too busy getting Futurama renewed to attend CC.....

I want $1 from every visitor to CGEF if I'm right.

I am going to have to agree with the #2 poster, Futurama is slowy dying. TV is being taken over by reality and "The Simpsons", which by the way is starting to get extremely boring. I'm sad to say it but Futurama is going to need a miracle.
AnchoviesForFuturamaJul 9th 2004, 20:35
A miracle, uh? Well, I've got a few words about that: Anchovies and FOX's mailing Address.
TeralJul 9th 2004, 20:56
Futurama artists and writers signing stuff? Rare Futurama merchandise for sale/auction? Panel discussion? Suddenly I don't feel so bad that we got the DVD's years ahead of you guys. :p Years, I tell you! Years! (well, more like half-years, hut still....)

Grab me a Bongo pen, will ya'?
BrianTurner12Jul 10th 2004, 00:44
By the way, what is Fox's address, I'M MALIN' ANCHOVIES!!!!
AnchoviesForFuturamaJul 10th 2004, 06:27
Here are a few addresses you can send for Anchovies to: Just remember to stock on Anchovies and mail them to FOX so that they get them on Aug 10. No soon or later than Aug 10. Also visit PEEL so you people can print out copies of the special Anchovie can label drawn by follow AFF supporter germanfryfan. Make so to place his label on the cans so FOX knows why they are getting anchovies. And oh, please no terrorist related stuff. We are trying to protest to FOX over the one year anniversary Futurama's cancellation and just that. Maybe they'll bring the show back, or not, but at least they'll know we haven't forgotten about Futurama and showing FOX Futurama is not dead.

Can you post a tin can in the mail??
MorboJul 10th 2004, 21:45
Brian #8 it was the demise of Futurama that killed TV. There is nothing now but reality, dramas, soaps & quizs
TVsEgonJul 12th 2004, 02:10
Unfortunately, this news report isn't totally true.

Billy West will be at the San Diego Comic-Con this year, sharing a booth with Steve Troop of the webcomic Melonpool ( Info is also on Billy's website at

They are listed in the exibition listing as "Billy West/Melonpool" and will be in booth number 1420, right off one of the main entrances and the large Image Comics area.

Feel free to stop by and say hey to Billy, and buy some of his stuff, like music and such...
BrianTurner12Jul 12th 2004, 03:43
I just came up with something, Write a note with the anchovies and label and say "Give these to Dr. Zoidberg when you bring Futurama back,......Might not be the best idea...
BrianTurner12Jul 12th 2004, 03:46
Sorry to post again but can someone give me a link to the anchovie label?
AnchoviesForFuturamaJul 12th 2004, 06:07
The label can be found at PEEL under the General Disscussion section. Look for the topic called "The Tabasco Sauce of Futurama", and learn just how idea became a reality.
SlackJawedMoronJul 12th 2004, 14:23
Yay Billy! Now if only I could get to the damn thing, so I could shake his hand (and probably get it all covered in sweet, grease and tomato sauce).
fryluvr67Jul 13th 2004, 00:42
I love Billy West! I'm sad that I can't go. :( It stinks living here in PA and everyone else living in CA. I know! I'll somehow get a train and go to the con so I can get there before the 22nd! I must go! Oh well. Maybe next year. LUV YA BILLY!

my friend who works at rough draft studios says that claudia katz and rich moore are talking about handing out those coveted bender and planet express logo caps to anyone who picks them out of the crowd (or something like that, she wasn't totally clear). she said check the rds testsite for info. i'll post whatever i hear.

Question, is Futurama issue 18, coming out in July, or has it been delayed?
