Can't get enough Futurama

Rumours "utterly false"

As Andie reported a week ago, there have been some rumours about partially finished episodes which were said to have a good chance of getting into production. We had our reservations there. Today, "The Movie Hole" posted a new article which states:
At the time the show was put on hiatus by the network, there were multiple episodes in the early to 50% stage of development (of what was actually the fifth season of the show), and while these won

I think we all knew that there were no half written scripts. As far as the show coming back, I was hopefull.
SlackJawedMoronSep 16th 2004, 16:22
Grombor. Stupid facts. Ah, well... I'll still be waiting...
RyanSep 16th 2004, 16:37
I think it's great that the producers haven't given up. Keep sticking it to Fox, Mr. Cohen!!!
RyanSep 16th 2004, 17:11
Anyone seen MovieHole's new slew of lies for the day? Apparently they are going to be finishing these episodes and putting them out on a dvd. Based on the sales of said dvd they will either put new episodes on, or pass the torch to Cartoon Network. What I don't understand is if Cohen claims there are no unfinished episodes, then what is Fox going to put on this DVD? I already sent the writer of the article ( an e-mail calling him on this. I wonder what he has to say?
[-mArc-]Sep 16th 2004, 17:30
Ryan: This news post was based on the new article on The Hole. I showed it to Cohen and he says it's made up. If by the Hole or their Sources is another matter.

TJKSep 16th 2004, 19:44
readin that was like a bullet in the face but, ill still wish and wait, i wasnt gonna be mad at fox if they brought it back, but haha guess whatttt
RyanSep 16th 2004, 20:13
So by the new article on the Hole you meant the one today about the release of a DVD containing new episodes? Cause that's the one I read.
Bisected8Sep 16th 2004, 21:31
I told you... HAHAHAHA...I made myself feel bad.
RyanSep 16th 2004, 21:37
Yeah, okay. The rest of the article was even more bogus than that though. Those people talk like they're the authoratative voice of Futurama. A bunch of lying liars.
knowsfordsSep 16th 2004, 22:49
:( this bites...
And moviehole is usually a reputable source for insider info...

:( Well I guess we'll have to pull a seymour and sit and wait for fry...
DrZoidbergSep 16th 2004, 23:40
WTF is movie holes problem? There is no gain from manipulating fans like that. Now i am in a slumped state of depression. Well, all i have to tell them is to: "Bite my shiny metal ass!"
scottishSep 17th 2004, 00:17
my advisor sayd that had another link to watch these incomplete episodes
andresvillSep 17th 2004, 01:14
If I could only freeze myself for 1000 years... that way i would get to see all the new episodes of futurama...

(I just hope i dont wake up in a time when giant carrots rule the world)
SnooksSep 17th 2004, 01:19
I think someone got the wrong end of the stick and then fleshed it out with lies.

The show was canned part way through the last season, and *those* episodes were finished up before production stopped. There are a number of clever references to this in the last season (e.g. Bender commenting "Another science-fiction show cancelled before its time" in "Where no fan has gone before")

But yea, Go Dave, keep plugging at Fox ;)
AndySep 17th 2004, 01:56
I expected these rumors to be disspelled. But, it is good news that they are still lobbying FOX for new episodes. Thanks, mArc.
kyleSep 17th 2004, 03:05
I think they should go to another network. networks like NBC are desperately trying to get an animated series into their routine
LeelaLoverSep 17th 2004, 03:37
FOX would never give the rights of Futurama to one of their major competitors. They'd be dumbasses if they did. (But it would be cool.) Giving it to Cartoon Network, or even TBS would be a better option, since they wouldn't have to worry much about competition. And they could come up with some crap about them (other network) funding Futurama, and FOX not contributing one cent, and they still get some percent of profit. If that happened (which is not likely) the network wouldn't pay for the new episodes.
And it's total bull that they can bring back Family Guy, but not Futurama. (Family Guy was almost in the same position as Futurama.) But it's good news to hear that they still lobby for a renewal every now and then.
AKA-007Sep 17th 2004, 05:24
Pester the Fox network to uncancel it like Family Guy.

ShadowSep 17th 2004, 05:58
All well.
JeremyFeinSep 17th 2004, 06:31
Damn you movieholes for lying about Futurama Comming Back....Sob I wish everyone else were dead.
ZmithySep 17th 2004, 11:46
Damn Double-damn Triple-Damn with a damned cherry on top... They made it sound so good.
kyleSep 17th 2004, 17:17
Okay, I've come up with a daring plan to rig the lottery, buy the control factor of Fox networks, and get futurama started again... but I'll need 3 thousand tons of uranium and one bad-ass gravity pump.

Ahh! They are LYING! Futurama is coming back- 1:15 AM bloc on TBS. Once again, it is now TV14. STOP LYING!
SolidSnakeXSep 17th 2004, 17:28
Fox-
Why did you keep King of the Hill?
Why do you show crap reality shows?
Why'd you kill Futurama?
But revitalize Family Guy?
Go bite yourselves.
Times like this bring to one phrase:
Your inability to act intelligently and with competence should NOT constitute my suffering.
Suck on/Bite that, Fox.
kyleSep 17th 2004, 17:30
If every futurama fan puts twenty dollars together, we can buy the Fox network and MAKE it bring back Futurama!

Helloooo world. Cohen is just getting ready to surprise us. Once again: TBS 1:15 am Fridays (eventually) new episodes. How do I know?
a) TV14 not TVPG
b) Never seen that episode (the preview)
c) DUH!
There are people who agree with me.
SlackJawedMoronSep 17th 2004, 17:52
I'm not sure that 'Duh' counts as evidence... ;)
RyanSep 17th 2004, 18:06
So have you seen all the aired episodes? Or did the possibility that the one in the preview is an episode you missed just slip your mind? I think it's safe to say that there are no new episodes of any kind, and I think it's also safe to say that if and when there are, Cohen and Groening will be so excited about it, that we'll probably be some of the first to know.
DEATHATTHEDOORSep 17th 2004, 18:21
I was exited then I am dissapointed. Yet it wasn't a blow to me, because, according to Murphy's Law #3, "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.".
Still I am pleased that David still haven't abandoned the thought.
BlackUpSep 17th 2004, 20:03
What??
I don't get it. What is this TBS 1:15 am Fridays and TV 14 about? I'm from out of states so that's maybe why I don't understand it. Could someone please explain it to me? thx
OutOfstateHaterSep 17th 2004, 20:34
Why dont you move to american fiqure out what tbs is and i have not heard this rumour tell me more!
enopepsuiSep 17th 2004, 21:19
Cohen has SFA better to do, he should write a couple of episodes. And he can have them animated by dipping into his obscene wealth!
edelSep 17th 2004, 21:23
This is how rumors get started. No, TBS has not picked up any new episodes. Otherwise one of the webmasters would know about it and update the site with the news. Now somebody's going to go around saying he read on CGEF that new episodes are being produced, and it'll take off from there. Please stop, it's getting annoying.
RyanSep 17th 2004, 22:54
Okay, now I'm mad. If you read the correction of the MovieHole article correctly, all it says is that Fox doesn't plan to air these completed episodes. The writer still claims that Fox has ordered the completion of more episodes for a new DVD set. And I quote : "The response to last week
RyanSep 17th 2004, 22:58
Why must they continue to lie to us? That was hardly even a retraction. (sorry for the double post, I'm forgetful with rage)
If anybody needs me I'll be in the Angry Dome!
FryoramaSep 17th 2004, 23:34
I tried so hard for my hopes not to get up but i was still slapped in the face.

Damn Fox Die!

Or put on Futurama.

I agree with most of every one else. If Family Guy could come back on why not Futurama? Family Guy was a great show (by me) and it got revieved why not the cult show Futurama?

And I'm not buying that it's too expensive crap. The money they'll get from people watching it will far outway the purchase.

Anyway glad to hear that there is good news!
SolidSnakeXSep 17th 2004, 23:34
[The following comment is rated B for Bollocks - mArc]
TBS is a TV channel (cable). This is not a known episode advertised. I don't know and several others on the site agree with me. It said TV14. Unless they have altered the Futurama episodes to make them more inappropriate and created a mini-scene teaser to piss us off there are NEW EPISODES.
All hail the HypnoToad.
All burn Fox.
All hail TBS.
edelSep 18th 2004, 00:03
In a situation like this, it's good to apply Occam's Razor. Now, which is the most likely scenario?

A. TBS will start airing reruns of Futurama, one of which happens to be an episode you've never seen before.

B. The Futurama team has gone behind the backs of everybody, including the WEBMASTERS OF THIS SITE (who have personal contact with the creators of the show), to create some BRAND NEW TOP SECRET EPISODES to be picked up by TBS? Without any advertising at all, I might add.

Do you realize how unlikely option B sounds?
DEATHATTHEDOORSep 18th 2004, 01:49
Why everyone supposes moviehole LIED to you?
What does it gains by lying to you?
FrysIdenticalTwinSep 18th 2004, 01:55
Damn you fox! futrurama should never have been cancled but keep trying David
SlackJawedMoronSep 18th 2004, 02:43
I don't think Moviehole lied to us. I believe they were simply given some bad info. Wasn't too clever of them to publish it, but oh well.
chumpbenderSep 18th 2004, 03:04

ALl of you, bite it. Futurama is coming back @nd there is no way to deny. I HAVE SEEN EVERY EPISODE- NO EXAGGERATION. Once again- why does everybody ignore the evidence and keep ignoring the fact the show reads TV14?
SlackJawedMoronSep 18th 2004, 04:24
Here's a pointer: Why don't you post an episode description? Then we can all judge whether it sounds like a new episode or not.
SolidSnakeXSep 18th 2004, 04:45
It begins with Bender on a bizzare planet with lots of background robos and (some) humans. He goes over to a futuristic looking beer keg and begins to push the handle on top of it for beer and drink from it. Suddenly, it occurs to Bender that the keg is a robot.
Bender says "Hey your a robot!" and backs up.
RoboKeg (???) replies with something like "Naugh, I like dat. (growl). Then it moves on. At the top it read TV14. Are there any TV14 futurama episodes? I didn't think there were.
SolidSnakeXSep 18th 2004, 04:48
Note: RoboKeg was not um, straight.
Pardon my grammatical and spelling mistakes
TheDrainpipeSep 18th 2004, 05:26
Um, Mr. Snake, what you have just described is a scene from the episode "Crimes Of The Hot," which has been aired on TV, is on the fourth season DVD set, has been seen by all the fans, etc etc. It's not a new episode at all. Better luck next time.

But why am I telling you this? You've SEEN EVERY EPISODE - NO EXAGERRATION. Or maybe you've just been deliberately having fun with all the fans here and know damn well there are no new episodes?
benderamaSep 18th 2004, 05:31
it gives me another reason to commit sucide
FoxkilloramaSep 18th 2004, 06:13
Why did moviehole apologize for lying and giving out false information and then in the same breath, lie through it's teeth? Either no one has told them that Cohen said the half made episodes were bull and someone keeps feeding him lies on the subject, or he is lying his ass off.
JonSep 18th 2004, 08:47
SolidSnakeX keeps getting owned.
DEATHATTHEDOORSep 18th 2004, 15:28
I've been thinking about releasing a book called: "Futurama: The Conspiracy Theories". It will be about how the US Governement and Fox keep lying to us that they are making new Futurama episodes in Area 51, have captured and brainwashed David and Matt and how they bribed Moviehole to lie to us.
What do you think?
SolidSnakeXSep 18th 2004, 15:44
I'm going to trust that your right on this. However, I'm still confused why it says TV14 at the top. Help!!!
PalakasSep 18th 2004, 20:08
When teletoon plays a show of futurama it also rates it as "TV14".
RyanSep 18th 2004, 23:09
I was under the impression that Futurama always had a TV14 rating. I could be wrong though.
JonSep 18th 2004, 23:41
Who effing cares about the rating? It isnt set in stone, and I think about 13 episodes were rated TV14 by fox themself. Also, cable ratings are different than prime time ratings. So the fact that it changes isnt a big deal.
BragaSep 19th 2004, 03:48
Aaaarg those dang rumors! I was happy then sad and now sorta hopeful. Is that what being pregnant's like?
PJSep 19th 2004, 04:21
well am a little confused about this new DVD thing but as for new episodes..........well no one knows what the futura may hold so just didn't give up hope
KimberlySep 20th 2004, 16:54
If there were any truth to this, Groening or Cohen would have mentioned it at any number of interviews and conventions.

Best option? Keep emailing fox. Make the Anchovies campaign a continual campaign, not a one-time deal. Buy the DVDs. Keep emailing Fox. Keep sending them anchovies. Send the anchovies to multiple Fox directors, and if you can find the mailing info, board members. It would be great if an ongoing campaign could be organized on this site or the sister site peelified, but it seems that everyone is too busy bickering over whose anchovies label is best to actually put together a real plan, dig deep, get those addresses, and mail off the relabled anchovies.

What do you want?
NEW FUTURAMA!

MaximeSep 20th 2004, 23:37
I think that if Futurama come back it will be in 2 years because the Simpsons season 16 or 17th seems to be the last one. Then Matt and David can concentrate on Futurama and like this we have a hope to have Futurama brand new

MaddySep 22nd 2004, 08:20
I don't know why I'm sorry but, Ryan Futurama had a 12a rating, I don't even know why I had to correct you.
benderSep 22nd 2004, 22:25
Oh those damned rumors!
RyanSep 22nd 2004, 22:39
I wasn't even talking to you. I was talking to the autor of the "When do we want it? Now!" post. I never claimed that Futurama always had a TV14 rating, I said I could be wrong.
lastofthehyliaSep 24th 2004, 11:09
You know, it's not unheard of for companies to purposely start rumors to see what the reaction is. But I should make it clear that I'm not saying that's what's happened here or that it is even likely that's what's happened here.

...you want false hope, or not?
OhhAhhSep 24th 2004, 13:50
