The Simpsons use a different animation studio for the key frames, which could explain some of the "mistakes". However, quite some people doing frames for Futurama applied at the Simpsons after the show ended as far as I know.

The reason he has faults is because it is an early version of Bender. The episode is set in like 2020 and Bender was built in like 2996.

I loved him appearing though and I had gotten some super-low quality screenshots before CGEF got the good ones, including a screenshot of John D's name in the credits.

I don't know how the similar Family Guy set sold that also came out, but if that one did well then they probably figured a Futurama one would sell a lot, too. Im confused, while I love all things Futurama I really dont like the latest episodes of The Simpsons so Im sure I'll watch it to see my fave robot ever created (Im including the star wars robots in there). let's clear up some things:

Bender being on the simpsons doesn't mean futurama was renewed
Bender being on the simpsons doesn't mean Fox likes Futurama any more than they did before he was on the show
Bender has already made one or two appearances on the simpsons, so this isn't exactly something new
Who cares if Benders eyes are round or square?
Who cares if Bender is or isn't on a show that may or may not suck?

Yes, fox is going to release a DVD of four episode of Futurama. Does that mean Futurama is renewed? NO! Random Futurama toys and comics and calendars are still made, but it doesn't mean the show will ever come back on the air.

NOTHING that happens is a "sign" - Futurama is off the air, and will stay off the air for a very long time, or possibly forever. All we can do is enjoy what we have, or get, now. So complaining endlessly about the colors of bender or machanics from the episode of the simpsons is just idiotic.

The writers or animators of the show are busy with other projects. If we were to get anything new by futurama, it would have to be once everyone is freed up. people have moved on. It's something that just wont/cant happen right now. At the end of the year, MAYBE something good will happen for our favorite show. But until then, I think we need to stop complaining and just enjoy what we have.

When I saw Bender on the Simpsons, I was excited and happy. For no other purpose than actually just seeing him in animated form again. I didn't ponder about it being a dumb thing, or a good thing. it was just what it was, and I can't believe the amount of whining that is occuring because of this.
Just sit back and enjoy the 3 seconds Bender had on the Simpsons.

The Simpsons are fucked these days, un original dribble, they are even re-doing things the simpsons have already done. Case in point Bender has apeared 6 times in the simpsons.

Futurama needs to comeback, we were already seeing the plot changing in Futurama, and it just wasnt the same old "hum-drum" thing every episode like in the Simpsons. In Futurama, we Actually seen the Characters Develope, and IMO that is what makes a show intresting. When you can have your characters Develope and Make it Funny all at the same time. "The Devils Hand are Idle Play Things" is a sad way for our favorite TV Show to End. It was a Great episode dont get me wrong, but, In the "Why Of Fry" the Nibbolians say that they will need Fry again. I think they should have made the Series Finale and the Final Season, about a Big Epic Battle between Nibbloians and their allies (the good guys), vrs Persion-Obicore (sp) 8 and the Brains (Bad Guys) and have Fry some how saving the day, and possibly die in the act. And at the end have leela say she is pregeant with Frys baby.

in response to areested development, futurama wont get back in unless one of the current shows is cut and quite frankily i think all of them are very safe except arrested devlopment thats why i picked it. Plus when 8:30 comes around i turn off fox for then night when it was on.

I think I read somewhere on this site that one of the reasons they cancelled Futurama was because it was expensive to make. Well wouldn't the means to make it became cheaper by now? As said in the news, they have thought about bringing back Futurama but are in "preliminary talks" which means that in the making of this particular Simpsons episode there was no intention to bring back this great show. It might have been better to have Zoidberg in his place, it might have been better to have had a better drawing done, but the fact is there wasnt, so deal with it. Just get back to praying that Fox finally decide to bring it back. And as for all you lot complaining about the quality of pogramming in america and australia, come to Britain. We have nothing.
