US Monster Fun DVD up for preordering

After some waiting, the US version of the Futurama Monster Robot Maniac Fun Collection DVD is now up for preordering at amazon.com. The release date is set to August 23rd. At about $10, it's definitely a good buy for people who don't own all the season DVDs and makes for a perfect gift and introduction to the show. For more info, read our review of the UK version.

I liked season 3 the best. It had the most episodes and think they are the funniest ones. I kind of felt like they rushed the end of season 4 to make a good ending for the series when they thought theywould be canceled and as a result the jokes are kind of lacking compared to previous episodes.

Personally, I thought season 4 was the worst, they got a little off their game in general (not that they didn't have some goodies). I can't decide my favorite between seasons 2 and 3. Season 3 had more of my favorite episodes, but it wasn't as consistently funny as season 2.

For anyone that cares, the region 4 release of Monster Robot Maniac Fun Collection will be on the 24th of August, according to Sanity. If you want to check, go to the Sanity website, and type 'Futurama' in the search box

2,1,3,4.. 4 just seemed like a different show with episodes like Spanish Fry and DHAIPT and some others. Still 4 had The Sting, my fav ep.

i will buy this even though i own all the dvd sets. Keep in mind, Fox executives will be looking at the sales of Futurama dvds very closely in the next few months to decide wether its worth bringing back, so everyone do your share and SUPPORT FUTURAMA!

Hah! This post came up on my birthday! Oh, what a wonderful day it is. (Of course it's even better with this wonderful news!)

For only $10, no U.S. Futurama fan has an excuse to not buy two copies of this and pass one on to a friend who maybe never got into Futurama during it's run, but would probably enjoy it.

I'm buying 3, and giving away two of them. Each DVD sold gets FOX one inch closer to greenlighting "future" Futurama projects. It's all about them seeing real money making potential. Nothing else matters to the suits with the power.

I just got it from the UK. It was so relieving to get something new, although I've seen the episodes a million times. Apart from the easter egg, the only new material is a commentary-style intro to the disc and each episode, which feature some hilarious John DiMaggio acting as Bender. For this it's definitely worth it. Should you get it? Well, if you're a big enough Futurama geek that you participate in online forums, you'll love it too!!!

Oh, i forgot to mention, there's an animatic of 'Hell is other Robots' with an audio commentary. Hear Billy West's impression of Tony Soprano!!!
chance1192Jul 31st 2005, 09:01
WOW, is it going to be released in Australia some time soon?
zybanAug 1st 2005, 19:57
chance1192, I'm from Adelaide, I bought it from amazon, for about $20 all up.
