Can't get enough Futurama
In Color

Some News, Everyone!

Some news straight from the horse's mouth:

  1. There was rumour going on about an additional episode ("73rd episode") to finish the series. Namely, the rumour spread from TVTome. Sorry, no such thing. However, the 72nd episode called "The
Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings" (4ACV18) was produced with a possible series end in mind. Dan Castallaneta will return as the Robot Devil for this one.
  2. "The Why of Fry" (4ACV10) will answer some longstanding questions.
  3. Right now, FOX has scheduled all 16 remaining episodes to air from November through April. However, FOX schedules should be looked at in the context of fairy tales.
  4. The Futurama Video Game is forthcoming (They just finished producing the dialogs), but will most likely not be ready for Xmas. Prepare for February.

Thanks go to DXC for clearing these things up.

Let's hope they finish the show off with Beelzebot singing a catchy number that we all remember for the rest of our lives. I love the Robot Hell song!
As a side thought, i hope the Futurama Game is set arond season 3, because that's what they're showing in the UK right now, and I don't want to have to wait til they show later seasons before the game will make sense :P

It's a shame that there won't be a 73rd episode, but to be honest I never believed the rumour anyway. It would cost far too much to get the production team back together just to make one episode. Hopefully there will be a propper closed final ending some day though, when hopefully Fox sees sense and orders a new production season. And It's cool to hear some more news about the Futurama game, I was begining to get worried that they'd given up, but thank god it's still happenening. I can't wait.

scheduling all 16 episodes is both good and bad, I guess. We get to see them all and don't have to wait for DVDs: good. FOX not planing a left-over stack probably means FOX not planing to renew: bad.

And, I'm assuming Cartoon Network's deal states that they can't show those 16 episodes until after FOX does? I guess with 72 episodes at their disposal and only one airing a week, this won't even be an issue for a long while (esp. if they air the episodes in order from the beginning).

As long as CN doesn't start editing / censoring the show (particularly with the news of the racy fifth season). At least the lack of censor intereference was one of the few blessings of being on FOX.

The main reason futurama wasn't cencored on fox was because fox cencored it in the production stages
