European Futurama Season 3 DVDs

An update on the situation of the European Futurama Season 3 DVD set release:

German Amazon now lists the set. However, the release date is said to be September 13th and the price €54,99. Compared to that, Amazon in the UK offers the set for June 2nd and at £29.99 which translates to roughly €45/$45 after adding shipping to western Europe or the US.
If the late date on the German amazon isn't wrong, it could be explained by the local station PRO7 never airing one of the included episodes. If you can live without having the (horrible) German sound, I'd recommend buying the sooner and cheaper British set.

But C4 hasn't aired I Dated A Robot, but that's on the S3 DVDs isn't it?

PRO7 did actually air season 3, minus The Route Of All Evil (which is included in the set, isn't it?) Seems like they will show season 5 this summer after airing no Futurama for over _half a year_. Well, I still personally prefer the original versions, cause the German synchro is sort of... bad :)

That's what I meant with "PRO7 never airing one of ..." (one being Route of all Evil). Anyway, get the British set, forget the german dubbing. I'm German myself and never watched a single episode on my DVDs in German. Going to go for the UK set, too.

Hey! I took you radvice by buying the season two dvd set from brittian a month ago. I have a problem that i think should be stated when you reckomen peopl to buy these from brittian if they live in the us the encoding on the disc is different so you cant play it on your usa dvd player. My self i am luck to have a computer dvd player also and i was able to change the playback options to eastern and western europe so i could watch it but some wont be as lucky.

#6, that would be that little thing called DVD Regions, which everyone else in the world seems to know about. You can buy a multi-region DVD player btw, or hack your existing one if it is the right make and model. mArc put a link to a DVD hacking website a few days back.

When I first scrolled down to read this update and I saw the words "September 13th" highlighted my heart sank. Then a couple of seconds later when I actually read it proplerly I calmed down again. I just hope this isn't a sign that the English set will be put back also. I remember when season 2 was coming out, originally it was something like the end of September then BAM Mid November! Fox seem to like getting everyone excited then taking it all away! Anyway that doesn't seem to be happening again here (yet?) Since Season Three is already up for pre-order, and featured in all the release charts as June 2nd, i don't think Fox will change anything for the UK now, right?
I know this sounds like i'm jumping ahead and assuming the worst, but this is Fox!

That "David X. Cohen video" is probably the trailer they made for San Diego Comic Con 2001 for A Tale of Two Santas' exclusive showing. in it David introduces the episode as a family friendly show for all ages, til FOX calls and he says it's suitable for nobody. and continues to pimp the episode and the guest stars.

First mentioned this late in the original thread about the Season Three DVD set, thought I'd repeat it here:

A few days ago, I got an e-mail from AmazonUK notifying me that the price on my order had dropped to
[-mArc-]Apr 25th 2003, 00:00
I think I figured out what that was. Basically, they notified you about a real tiny change. Their product list says 29.99, but if you order it, it becomes 29.60 in the very last step. Your email said 25.52 which is exactly that price when VAT is excluded (for non-EU orders). 39 cents just wasn't worth an update on the main page and as long as their product page lists 29.99 I'll go with that as to not confuse people.

I ordered mine from http://www.filmmix.com a month or so ago. They release it here in Sweden May 28.th. 495 Swedish krona (

Anyone know exactly which episodes are in the set - seeing as there's always a kind of overlap with the following season?

Leeping my fingers crossed for Anthology of Interest II....
