Futurama Season 3 DVD/VHS Trailer

Look what I found buried on the UK FOX server: The Futurama Season 3 DVD/VHS Trailer in a small 1.64MB and a bigger 4MB version. Great job there. Really fun to watch.
The Season 3 DVD set is now constantly hovering in the top 10 preorders at amazon.co.uk (currently on #4). Among the DVD best sellers it's on #8 already. So, don't miss out and go preorder it, too.

Incidentally, the Futurama Season 2 DVD set will be released in Australia tomorrow.

UPDATE: The Futurama S3 DVD managed to get rank 2 on both DVD pre-orders and DVD bestsellers at amazon.co.uk. Rank 1 is LotR: TTT (unbeatable for the next months). This is quite remarkable seeing that the release is 3 weeks to go from now. If it manages to stay in the top 10 up to then, it should confirm the popularity and commercial potential Futurama still possesses. If only the heads would take notice ...

Thanks, [-mArc-]. Good find. But who's that in the picture? DXC?
JonMay 13th 2003, 00:00
Yeah, thats DXC. Its probably the opening 'warning' for a tale of two santas.
KazzahdraneMay 13th 2003, 00:00
Nice trailer. Pity I'm sitting in the school library with no sound :P

Little update: It's still 3 weeks to go and the discs are on preorder #2 and total chart #5 now. Great performance. I don't recall the American release that high in the charts that early.

How come i can only download the soundtrack? The image of the media player logo just stays on the screen.
CyberKnightMay 13th 2003, 00:00
If you're trying to use Media Player, then the answer would be it's a QuickTime file (and needs QuickTime to play).

You can download the browser plugin from www.quicktime.com.
[-mArc-]May 13th 2003, 00:00
Well, must be you. Looks fine here. Try installing quicktime four as it says on their site.

Good clip, great news.....

Family Guy in America was number 2 on the Amazon.com's best sellers, but I doubt Fox cares about that stuff. Especially from a UK release.
CliveMay 13th 2003, 00:00
What software does this need to run. All it does is play it will no picture, well it does have a pciture, the windows media player logo!
BrainSluggoMay 13th 2003, 00:00
The starter page says it requires QuickTime plugins to play; you might need to update the plugins (click the starter page's link)or try another browser.

I noticed a clip of The Route of All Evil was in there, wasn't that shown in Season 5?? Although it was made for season 3 shouldn't it stay where the put it?
AdAMMay 13th 2003, 00:00
Nop.
The episodes on the Dvd's are in production-order.
CyberKnightMay 13th 2003, 00:00
The sets are in production seasons, rather than airing seasons. TROAE is a 3ACV episode (3ACV12, I believe).
SilentGRepresentingkick-aMay 13th 2003, 00:00
Fox are dumbasses for assigning production numbers and not keeping them in order when the show actually airs. Damn their stupid attitudes towards production numbers and airing dates!
dedvirusMay 13th 2003, 00:00
Silent G: that's how all the networks work. stuff airs out of order due to production delays. if you read the DXC interview, he said that The Route of All Evil wasn't completed until 2002 because Dwight Conrad's voice actor was in China for over a year. And since FOX was pre-empting the show so much, there was no hurry.

and that pic is of David X up there in his warning for Tale of Two Santas, sitting there eating ice cream before he holds up a picture of Coolio and feeds it some ice cream. Very funny movie. He's in various locations throughout the movie.

The Season 2 DVD in Australia sorta came outta the blue, Season One was only released a few months ago. Its hard to believe were ahead of America in anything.
BezzaMay 14th 2003, 00:00
Were not. Season 2 is already out in america isn't it?
[-mArc-]May 14th 2003, 00:00
No, the US got Season 1 only. Season 2 follows in September it seems.
KazzahdraneMay 14th 2003, 00:00
Is DXC's "warning" for Tale of Two Santa's a part of the episode that aired at the start ala Marge's warnings at the start of ToH episodes of the Simpsons?
CliveMay 14th 2003, 00:00
Sorry if this seems a stupid question, but why is there a warning before this episode?
GocadMay 14th 2003, 00:00
FOX held A Tale of two Santas back for over a year because they felt that the episode was too cruel for 7 p.m. timeslot.

"Due to the mature theme and violent content, parental discretion is advised"

Warning before ATOTS

Hey, quick question:
I'm here in the US and have been buying the UK releases of Futurama and was wondering if there is anything different about the US releases other than the PAL and Region 2 encoding. I know with The Family Guy US set, some extra features were added that were not on the UK releases... so is this similar with Futurama?
[-mArc-]May 15th 2003, 00:00
The European discs had all features and even one more than the american ones (trailer). The only difference besides the encoding would be the packaging. American sets come in super-slim cases.
BrendanMay 20th 2003, 00:00
I want to live in Europe.
