Futurama The Game - Reviews

Lacking a console and the game itself, we currently can't offer our own review. As the game was already released in the UK and will shortly be released in the US, we suggest that you just do it yourselves

User reviews are accepted for both the XBox version and PS2 version. These are also accessible from the "Futurama, The Game" page.

If you didn't buy the game yet, find it here at amazon.com and amazon.co.uk

I read on Amazon that a Gamecube one is being released... what's up with that?
LolyPolyAug 3rd 2003, 00:00
It seems Gamecube version is only being released in the US.
[-mArc-]Aug 3rd 2003, 00:00
Everything looks like the Game Cube version won't be released at all. Sorry.

Well, if you want, you can trust amazon or gameplay instead of me ;) I just know that things don't look good for the Game Cube. Reason was that they wanted to focus on the two profitable systems and development for the GC was stopped.
loudmikeAug 3rd 2003, 00:00
I am very confused here every where I look it looks like the GCN version of Futurama is being s-canned but there is still a link to pre-oder it at amazon.com though it does not have a box shot. What Is going on I really want to play this game maybe enough to buy another system if I have to. HELP!!!!
CutedgeAug 3rd 2003, 00:00
ebWorld only has it for the PS2 and XBox. Same with Gamestop. I'd trust those two sites a lot more than Amazon. Also, the PS2 and Xbox on Amazon have box art. The GC one doesn't. Finally, the Vivendi Games site only has the PS2 and XBox version, so i'll have to borrow my brother's PS2 to play the game... Oof.

CutedgeAug 3rd 2003, 00:00
By the way, it has new screenshot ... product.do?gamePlatformId=435

in particular ... eenshot.do?gamePlatfo ... eenshot.do?gamePlatfo ... 2

Looks like they improved the graphics a lot since E3

Ok, I'm annoyed. The option to have it cut the HTML out of the posts is really pissing me off. In fact, looking at the post makes me realize that it took the majority of my post and replaced it with '...'. Great. Wonderful. Just think of the reviews we'll get.

"This is what i think about the Futurama Video Game ... but that's just my opinion"

So, go to
http://www.vugames.com

and type in 'futurama' in the search box to get to what I was talking about.

Grrrr.

[-marc-] can you fix this please?

I just waiting for this game, Simpsons Hit and Run, and the next Grand Theft Auto for the Playstation 2. Even though older games are cheaper to buy I still rather rent the games before I buy. That is what I did with Simpsons Skatebroading and I am glad I didn't spent but a couple dollars instead of 40 or 30 dollars on that crappy game. So if this Futurama game is awesome then I buy it later when the price is down instead of the usual $50 retail value. $50 for a game is insane even if it's GTA Vice City.

go to http://www ... 042p1.html for pics and an interview with one of the developers on this game, it also mentions it comming out on the gamecube

sideshowbobAug 5th 2003, 00:00

ToddAug 5th 2003, 00:00
I found a place where you can download a PC version for free! It's at: ...

Just kidding :)

Please fix the html, Marc.
insiderAug 6th 2003, 00:00
there will be no gamecube release. ever. anywhere. trust me on this one.
KazzahdraneAug 6th 2003, 00:00
I concur, only expect a GC version if the other two versions sell incredibly well and there is strong interest generated in a GC version.
BeantherioAug 6th 2003, 00:00
It's very odd that a GC version won't be released and an Xbox version will. Seems to me that this game would suit the GC and it's public better it would the Xbox. Both platforms have about the same size userbase so that shouldn't have stopped Vivendi. Anyway, since I own neither a PS2 nor an Xbox I will not be getting this game.
WendellAug 6th 2003, 00:00
beantherio, xbox has a larger userbase than gamecube, and the cube has had a lot of sales trouble lately.
CutedgeAug 8th 2003, 00:00
The X-Box userbase has grown a lot in the last 6 months while the GC userbase hasn't. Why? Because MS is putting a lot of money into promotion and because (surprise, surprise) the X-Box has gotten some good games lately.

This fall and next year there are some good games coming out for the GC so the userbase should grow again at that point. Whether this will make the companies like Interplay and Vivendi reverse their stance of 'no gamecube' is yet to be seen. The answer is probably no.

#12: Thanks, Cutedge, for the tip. The new screengrabs are a big improvement over the trailers we've seen up to now for one reason: outlines. Unfortunately, the minimalist character animation still means Bender will be the most expressive character of the bunch (Fry, Leela, Mom, and the rest all blink and move their lips but maintain utterly blank expressions). But I'll be happy if I just get to pilot the ship.

Well I jusy bought the Xbox Version of Futurama the Game and it Rocks.

It plays like a lost Episode. The orginal script. The Voice Over actors. you get the idea. I like the Fact you walk around the Planet express office and you Go into Hermes Office.

Low and Behold there he is sitting behind his desk with a Brain Slug on his head.

But no Beer Power up for Bender, or No Eating out a trash can for ZoidBerg.

Sad Really.

I give it a 8 out of 10.
