Can't get enough Futurama

Futurama #1 on CN in July

After taking #1 of all Cartoon Network telecasts in in June, the release of the July data shows Futurama's 'A Flight to Remember' as the most watched program on Cartoon Network for that month. Total rating was up from its June 2.4/5 rating record to 2.7/5. Not only that, it also landed #2, #3, #6, #8, #10 and then 10 more in the top 100 list even though it was only on for 3 of the month's weeks. The remaining 4 slots in the top 10 went to Family Guy.

It just bears repeating:

A well made show + a steady time slot + a little promotion = television success.

If only the moron execubots at FOX had learned a little basic math...

I agree 100%. Maybe this will be an extra incentive for CN to shell out some extra money for the show. I live it Canada, and don't have Cartoon Network, but it would be nice to know that the show is continuing.

This just proves that the show is one of the greatest shows ever. the ratings are fanominal. Maybe CN with succed where FOX was caught doing nothing at all. I HATE FOX!!!! CN rocks !!!!

I would almost rather see Futurama retired out of glory than have it come back in that cheap "flash" animated format of Home Movies (a great show) and all the other CN shows. However, with these rating it now does seem possible to come back in it's original form. Say if the CN builds up around 6 to 13 million dollars and each show costs 1 million to produce they could have a mini-season. Now that Futurama would be on cable - where mini-seasons are done all the time now with the likes of Monk and The Sopranos - the show would be slightly cheaper, make a killing in the ratings and we would get fresh episodes (all be it years apart with the pace of animation). I'm sure CN is noticing this.

AS president Mike Lazzo mentioned they're at least attempting to get the shows back into production. also that if they did, they wouldn't want to make them low budget. (see interview from July)

Just one more reason to hate Fox. For cable, and that late at night, those ratings are absolutely phenominal.

hm. I like the idea of Lazzo trying to get Futurama episodes. Maybe they'll do the same thing that is going to be done with Family Guy. DVD exclusive episodes.

Wow....an episode already released on DVD being the highest rated show in July for an entire Network; not only being number one; but other episodes being 2 and 3. Yep, Fox is stupid.

So all the episodes of futurama that aired in July made it onto Cartoon Networks top 100 in ratings for the month? and this a repeating show that airs at 11:30 at night. and why did fox stop production? wow.
